Who’s the barbarian again?!
Hard to say. I drink Gin Martinis.
How 'bout you?
“Gin martini” is redundant, isn’t it? (insert smiley of your choice here).
Is this a trick question? :dubious:
Don’t Bruise The Gin!
Savages.
We should become a porn site. Think of the possibilities!
Squid pancakes.
Hentai Breakfastfoods?
Ahhhh, the diet of squirms.
Are you talking about your ex?
I used to say the same thing, but if you really (really) appreciate a good Martini, I suggest you try my method. Without a doubt the best Martini you’ll ever taste.
I did, it isn’t.
I did a whole string of tests and found that shaking your gin does, in fact, make a significant change in the drink for the worse. Your method for including vermouth is my standard though. Ahh, that was a good night.
How much dry Vermouth? I always make mine on the wetter side…
You shook it too long.
I usually do hal to 3/4 oz. It doesn’t matter much, because the objective is to have vermouth-flavored ice cubes to receive the gin. You pour the vermouth in, roll it around, then strain it out.
hendricks gin (from the freezer)
mezzetis drunken olives plus a little brine to taste
(they’re pickled in vermouth, saving a step)
stir with skewer
Drink
It WILL taste different if you shake the ‘crap’ out of it. Not BAD, just different.
Now, did you use Scientician methods, and serve the martini’s blindly to a panel?
If not, where do I get in line to get on the panel, as of course you’ll do this, now that it’s been suggested.
as a fan of Gin, I have yet to have a gin martini. Twice I’ve ordered one, and gotten a Vodka drink. No bad (ok, bad, I like my drinks a bit more subtle these days), but I want to try a dang martini.
You’ve reached an important level in your training when you come to think Sapphire Blue is ‘just ok.’
Believe me, you don’t need a double blind test. (For one thing, you’re not curing cancer. For another, a stirred martini is much sharper, the infused volatile oils that separate gin from vodka haven’t been arieated out.)
It’s HASENFEFFER, O thou ignoramus! :smack: And here I thought we were in the clear.
Hey, look at my band! cousinjake.com! Much wisdom to be found…
Dry is the answer! Actually, “What is Dry?”, Alex. I’ll take Martinis for 400.
If you’re using crap gin, you may as well put Kiwi shoe polish on your ice cubes.
