So I have some exciting news – I’ve got new jewelry!
It’s a wedding ring.
Wevetlady and I tied the knot back at the end of March, and what with wedding and family and honeymoon, I haven’t been around here much. looks around
Did anything change in the last couple months?
Anyway, I like guessing games, and that makes this a great opportunity since we had a very non-traditional wedding. If you’d like to participate, feel free to answer any of these questions or write in your own answers if you prefer:
Which of the following medieval (not necessarily musical) instruments appeared at the wedding?
A. A lute
B. A trebuchet
C. A broadsword
D. A hurdy-gurdy
What represented the groom on the marital cupcakes?
A. A small plastic pirate ship
B. A figurine of the Muppet ‘Beaker’
C. A four-eyed, green, beaked alien
D. A baseball player
What was the most surprising gift?
A. The 4-inch knife plus spork combination tool
B. The cash gift we suspect was once drug money
C. “His” and “Hers” walkie-talkies
D. Easter Eggs
The officiant was inspired by:
A. The wedding scene in “The Princess Bride”
B. A large supply of honey biscuits
C. Some loudly honking Canada Geese
D. Holly Golightly’s version of “My Love Is”
Really, the wedding was great fun and I just wanted to share. Anyone else with good wedding stories?
Hmmm…combination wedding thread and game. Does it go here or in The Game Room ? (Was The Game Room already open when you were last here?)
Sounds like a cool wedding. All weddings should focus on being fun!
I’ve selected my answers in bolded green…

Congratulations! You *are *going to share some pics eventually, right?
Thanks to all for your congratulations!
I’m afraid it was not piratically themed, but it did generally fit into the category of “outdoor fun”
So far on the guessing game gardentraveler wins question #4. Our officiant was so excited by the fun we were having that she asked if she could start the ceremony with “Mawwwage is the thing that brwings us togwah heah todway.” Of course we could not refuse.
Everyone really got into it for us - a pair of our friends did an excellent rendition of “My Love Is” (it helps that he’s in a band) and even the Canada Geese were cooperative (mostly by not pooping on the wedding party.)
We didn’t actually have a broadsword there, and the 4-inch knife and spork tool was surprising but not the most surprising…
I’ll have to see if I can’t put some photos up on imageshack or something.
