'What a Wonderful World This Will Be'- By George W. Bush

Absoloootly! Of all the jokes and parodies that have been flying around, I think the single most hilarious item was Darrell Hammond doing Gore in a monologue about how incredibly confusing and difficult the Palm Beach ballot was. I cracked up, and I’m a very tough audience.

Funny is funny. And I believe that nothing is sacred, as long as the jokes are truly funny, and not simply stupid or mean.

The Bushites are much, much too serious. Being a Republican seems to just suck all the juice right outta them.

You didn’t like my Yoda joke either?

Well, now I’m stuck. I want to respond earnestly and seriously that conservatives do indeed have a sense of humor and all that, but that wouldn’t really serve to back up my point. So I’ll just say that you would appreciate our humor if you didn’t always make a point to disagree with us. :stuck_out_tongue:

I have heard members of this board refer to GWB as being stupid, unqualified, ignorant, a total idiot…blah blah blah (you get the point)

I would like any of the Gore supporters to explain to me what makes him so much more qualified? He has never had a real job…he has been a politician his whole life, our tax dollars at work, right?

He totally switched his stance on certain issues as his career went on (abortion for example)He has lied numerous times in an attempt to brag on himself (claiming to sponsor bills when he wasn’t even in congress when they were passed, etc.) Yet, for some unexplainable reason he is heralded as being so much more itelligent that GWB. A glance at his grades in school show he is less that the brilliant man the media would have you believe he is.

And one more question…where were all these "He is just a governor…“not experienced in foreign policy”…“his state is last in everything” comments when a certain Arkansas governor was running for president?

What makes Gore more qualified that GWB? I am not saying GWB is the greatest candidate to ever run…but Gore isn’t any better! Get real folks!

I especially enjoyed your collection of hypocritical statements from those who mock GWB and his supporters with personal attacks and name calling! (Not that I am surprised by hypocrisy from the left)

Y’know, what amazes me is how just about every Democrat on this list talks about how the reason to vote for Gore was to keep that neo-Nazi racist sexist homophobic warmongering phallocratic abilitiest speciesist Bush out of office.

Did anyone vote for Gore because they actually liked Gore? How about next time you all nominate someone you actually want to vote for?

Christ on a pony, kids.

Look. I’m only going to say this one more time.

I think Mr. Bush in unqualified to be president. I think he is not particularly intelligent, and I think he has had most of his life handed to him on a platter.

Goddammit, that doesn’t mean I like Mr. Gore.

Sheesh. Enough with the knee-jerk partisan blanket judgements already.

That’s pretty much what I’d expect from a damn left-wing, hippy, pinko, liberal. Get a haircut.

*ALGORE I AM

Can we count them with our nose?
Can we count them with our toes?
Should we count them with a band?
Should we count them all by hand?
If I do not like the count,
I will simply throw them out!
I will not let this vote count stand,
I do not like them, ALGore I am!

Can we change these numbers here?
Can we change them, calm my fears?
What do you mean Dubya has won?
That is not fair! It ruins my fun!
Let’s count them upside down this time.
Let’s count until the state is mine!
I will not let THIS vote count stand!
I do not like it, AlGore I am!

I’m really ticked, I’m in a snit!
You have not heard the last of it!
I’ll count the ballots one by one
And hold each up before the sun!
I’ll count, recount, and count some more!
You’ll grow to like this little chore!
I will not let this vote count stand!
I do not like it, AlGore I am!

I won’t leave office, stayin’ here
I’ve glued my desk chair to my rear!
Tipper, Hillary, and Bubba too,
Are telling me that I should SUE!
We find the Electoral College vile!
Recount the votes until WE smile!
We do not want this vote to stand!
We do not LIKE it, AlGore-I-am!

How shall we count THIS ballot box?
Let’s count it standling in our socks!
Shall we count this one in a tree?
And who shall count it, you or me?
We cannot, cannot count enough!
We must not stop, we must be tough!
I do not want this vote to stand!
I do not like it, AlGore I am!

I’ve counted till my fingers bleed
and still can’t fufill my counting need.
I’ll count the tiles on the floor
and even count the ones next door!
And I will not say I am done
until the counting says I’ve WON!
I will not let this vote count stand!
I do not like it, AlGore I am!

What’s that? What? What’s that you say?
You think the current count should…STAY???
You do not like my counting scheme?
It makes you tense? Gives you bad dreams?
Foolish folks, you’re wrong, you’ll see!
Your only care should be for ME!
I will not let this vote count stand!
I do not like it, AlGore I am! *

One dumb poem deserves another.

Yeah, you can cut my hair when you pry it from my cold dead fingers, fascist. Stick it to the man.

Heh stoid, I think stuff that specifically really tries to be political is not funny. Or if it repeats itself too much like jenkinsfans did. Theres only so many times you can hear the word “count” before you go insane. Well actually a political joke is funny, as long as its accurate. If it says stuff that is not accurate that just annoys me.

Also from what earlier I said that everyone else ignored ive considered that I should still amend it to say “irrational arguements” as there can not be a totally irrational human being.

Okay…It was kind of amusing. Keep practicing!

Geez…Even I thought the jenkinsfans one was pretty good. Actually, I think someone should do a take-off from the “Count” on Sesame Street. [“I’m Count Gore and they call me that because I like to count…”] I haven’t seen that enough recently to do a good one. Any people with young kids out there who are up to the challenge?

Jshore… I don’t think so.

Let’s have some WIT, people! Even the OP wasn’t that great.

They were all over the place, as I recall. I’m not so sad as to save that sort of thing, especially for eight years, but I remember Clinton receiving a lot of flak for the poor quality of life in Arkansas during his tenure there.

My prediction is that while Bush will attempt to pass a lot of overly-business-friendly legislation while in office, the relatively evenly balanced Congress will prevent anything too extreme from getting through and will deadlock on everything else. In two years the Democrats will get control (as Congress seems to swing against the party in control of the White House in mid-term elections), even less will get done, and in four years the Democrats will put forward someone other than Gore or Hilary Clinton who won’t remind voters of the pig’s ear this election has become. With any luck it’ll be someone worth voting for, but I’m not holding my breath.

Let’s just hope GWB doesn’t get it into his head to start a little war in the meantime. :frowning:

Ohh pulease, gimme a break here. Let’s just look at the wars of the 20th century and who was in office at the time shall we?

WWI - Woodrow Wilson, Democrat
WWII - FDR, Democrat
Korea - Harry Truman, Democrat
Vietnam - JFK, Democrat (granted, Eisenhower began our involvement, but Kennedy sent the troops)
Persian Gulf - George Bush, Republican

Hmm, now which is the party most likely to embroil the US in a war again? Or are you arguing that all of these (mostly) Democratic Presidents were idiots as well?

gEEk

I apologize for being unclear; I was thinking more along the lines of any military action (by which I would include Panama, Grenada, Libya, Sudan, etc.). These days, it seems every president has to send the military to blow up or invade someone in order to A) prove that he’s not a sissy, and B) make Americans feel good about themselves. I would have made the same wish about Gore, were he likely to get into office.

That being said, I do tend to associate these little acts of national machismo to the Republicans, although maybe it’s just that I’m more likely to agree with the lame excuses the Democrats put forward for the military actions they instigate than the lame excuses the Republicans put forward for theirs. Certainly I think our involvement in the two world wars was justified, I don’t know enough about the beginnings of the Korean War to comment, and both parties were in it up to their eyebrows on Vietnam.

Clear now?
