A friend of mine got a really cool T-shirt as a Christmas gift. It’s a white shirt, really thin material, with an almost “homemade” screen-printed look to it. I’d be willing to bet it didn’t come from anywhere as mainstream as Hot Topic.
It has a picture (drawing) of Mount Rushmore with the four presidents’ faces on it, but to the right, a FIFTH face has been added in: a photo of Jon Lovitz, the chubby, balding actor best known from Saturday Night Live, The Critic, and News Radio. The caption below simply reads “What about Jon Lovitz?!!?”
I can’t help but crack up every time I think of this T-shirt. It seems so incredibly random, I can’t believe anyone would actually make and market these. Best of all, I can hear Jon saying that in his own whiny voice: “What about Jon Lovitz?!!? Why CAN’T I be on Mount Rushmore!??!” She loves Jon Lovitz so it was the perfect gift for her, and I’m very amused by the whole thing.
I think it’s be funnier – certainly more “random” – if there were no picture at all, just the question “What about Jon Lovitz?!”. Much more open to interpretation.
The Onion used to sell a t-shirt that said “Your favorite band sucks.” I always wondered how many idiots you could troll into an argument with that shirt.
Damn! I came into this thread to provide the link to the Cotton Factory. So instead I’ll just link to my favorite t-shirt: Gemütlichkeit ist eine Bretzel.
Haaaa, and as a violinist I have to get this one.
