I saw a program on A&E last night about the top ten toys of all time. I’m not sure what the results were based on, but LEGO wasn’t one of them. I was really surprised by that.
Also on the list was Crayola crayons. Am I the only one who doesn’t consider them toys? I thought they were merely writing utensils…
Sorry the disappoint you, Ophanim, but I don’t have a story for you. I like potatoes is all.
Unfortunately, I missed the beginning of the program, so I don’t know the exact criteria, but it seemed to be mostly based on sales and longevity. Barbie and Play-Doh were right up there, and Yo-Yo’s were at the top.
This is completely pointless and almost off topic but…
I was watching Popular Mechanics for Kids and they went to the design studio where all those giant lego models are built, it was really neat seeing how the did these models.
I love crayola stampers, especially my teal blue snowflake one. There is nothing like a new box of crayons…I want to colour now…
Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.
Angkins-I love the stampers too! My favourite is the blue paw print.
I agree about new crayons. They’re such a pleasing shape, but then they get all mangled once you have to start peeling the paper… ech.
Oh, and the Crayola factor looks like fun, although I’ve never been…

They are also one of the main food groups. (I believe that Play-Doh is in that group as well.)
“If I pinch my nose with my fingers, close my mouth tight,
and blow real hard, I can make my ears bleed. It’s
not as cool as Superman’s X-ray vision, but it’s my own
special talent.”
Umm, you weren’t in chat the other night were you? We were discussing the taste of Play-Doh, Crayons, Paste and others. Let me see if I can remember what Pricciar said about Play-Doh:
“Yumm, Play-Doh, oh so salty!”
I have to agree…
[rant]Lego’s are fun, but a bitch to step on in the middle of the night walking in to check on your kids after they haven’t put their toys away.[/rant]
