The site here does not list all of them. For instance, I know that You can use super, and sub-scripting by using the following code:
X[**sup]abc[/sup] produces X[sup]abc[/sup]
X[**sub]abc[/sub] produces X[sub]abc[/sub] **
[/QUOTE]
Are there any other codes? How about for centering and justifying text. Lord knows many of the posts here can use some justification.
Also, how can I directly post a flash movie into a post? I have seen it done before.
{symbol}whatever{/symbol} produces [symbol]whatever[/symbol]
Superseded by {font=symbol}whatever{/font} which also produces whatever, but is more versatile, since you can use any font in there.
HTML and IMG embedding are turned off here; if you found a way to circumvent that and embed a flash movie, the mods would track you down and eat your pancreas.
vBulletin also permits people to add vBcodes. For the most part, though, bulletin board operators leave text formatting codes alone. UBB, vBulletin, and most of the clone boards out there use the same formatting code, and the consistency of application is comforting to new bulletin board users.
The “standard” vB codes are shown in a link on the “post reply” page. The other “custom” vB codes added at the SDMB are in the technical issues FAQ thread in the ATMB forum.
