What are people from your city/town/area called?

Okay - I have checked with some of my Redwood City friends and no one has a clue - the ever-charming “idiots” was offered (and is most accurate, present company included), but doesn’t really apply.

Any ideas?

What does anyone from a town with the “X City” format use? New York City types of course use New Yorkers, but what about if you are from Oklahoma City - just be happy with Sooners? What about Panama City? Kansas City?

Born & raised in the Richmond. Grew up a block from Trad’r Sam. Moving soon, ideally near Castro/Mission Dolores/Duboce Triange.

Hmm, maybe I made it up. It’s not impossible, especially cause I don’t actually live in the Bay Area anymore. Oh well.

Vancouverites, I think. Or Vancouverers. Or “stoners”, but we’re not all like that! Depsite what it may seem like when you’re driving through downtown!

If you have lived in the county for about 5 seasons, you can consider yourself a ‘Local’. Many long time locals will frown on that though. Pretty much everyone is from somewhere else. And they rarely stay/last long.

middlesbrough = smoggie

not quite as bad as the “monkey hangers” up the road in hartlepool,

further up the road am split between calling geezers from newcastle geordies or referring to them by one of their football teams nefarious nicks of “barcodes” or “skunks” referring to their black and white team strip

Seattlites.

The area I live in call themselves Ballardites.

Tokyoites, but in Japanese the people who grew up in the “old” part of Tokyo are called Edokko, “Children of Edo” (from the former name of the city.

I’m from Utah, and we calls ourselves “Utahns” while some of the Nation mistakenly insists on Utahites.

Bumped.

Just learned the name for those from Halifax, Nova Scotia: Haligonians!

I’m originally from Chester, England, which makes me a Cestrian. Always rather liked that word.

Morons. Wait, no. That’s just what I call them.

I believe the preferred term is “Washingtonians.”
ETA: I did once visit Accident, MD, whose residents are known as “Accidentals.” Seriously.

I live in Blackfoot so I’m not sure of an appropriate term. Blackfooter? Blackfeet?

I have no idea whether either of the last two are correct Spanish.

I’m a Reginan and a Saskatchewanian

Both pronounced just like they’re spelt.

Baked.

Seriously, though, I’m from Tucson. We’re called “Tucsonans.” Don’t stick an “I” in front of the “A.” Some people are wont to do that.

Where I grew up in western PA: Johnstonians

Where I live now: Highlanders (which is a damn dirty lie as the average elevation here is about 75 feet ASL)

Mons, Belgium: Monsters?

I grew up in Johnstown, too, and I’d say “Johnstowner” seems to be used more frequently.

Just as an aside, are people from Mars, PA, called Martians?

Capetonians.

Durango, Co - Durangotang

Not sure what my current town’s residents are called.
