What are the best ringtones you've heard?

I love this.

I was on a bus today next to someone whose phone rang with R2D2-type noises. My phone rings with the sound of a very old-fashioned mechanical phoen bell. That one stands out as well.

sssssh! ( mathcaddy.com is for sale | HugeDomains )

I used to have the strongbad song from the “japanese cartoon” episode. I want to get the Final Countdown from AD though.

The theme from Sanford & Son. :cool:

I switch between “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” and the theme to “Law & Order” depending on what I feel like hearing. :slight_smile:

Ha. I was coming on to say I had the coolest one around. The Mario Brothers theme.

Actually, that is not the one I thought of when I read your post. I was thinking of the aliens or monsters or whatever they were, in the skit with the ringing telephone.

Something like this:

:: brring ::

nope, nope, nope, nope

:: brrring! ::

te—le—phone!
yup yup yup yup yup yup

:: brrring! ::

yup yup yup yup yup

That’s what mine does.

It was so stupid when I got the phone. It took me 30 minutes of surfing the web with my phone to find a ringtone to download to my phone to make my phone sound like a phone.

:smack:

I have the theme from the “Borat Show,” one of Sascha Baron Cohen’s characters on Da Ali G Show. It usually goes unrecognized, but once I was on a bus when it rang - and two guys cracked up laughing. My advisor, a no-nonsense economist, once heard it ring and said, “Is that from Ali G?” Hilarious!

Another cool one I had was the opening riff from XTC’s “Love At First Sight.” It gets people’s attention. I also used the opening riff from The Clash’s “London Calling” but it started to grate on me a bit.

My phone barks like a Chihuahua when it rings.

It’s the closest thing to a pet I can manage right now.

That’s at the last 10-20 seconds of the clip.

That’s funny, b/c that’s my ringtone for a friend of mine who’s a big fan of AC/DC. (He wanted “Highway To Hell” but since I like the opening riff of Back in Black better, and I’M the one who has to hear it, I won.)

People always seem to begin tapping their feet when they hear it. (Like yours, it’s the actual song, not that horrible synthesized tinkling.)

People who call me frequently have their own ringtones, which I rotate before they begin to irritate me. Currently they’re “Get Back” by Ludacris, “Beverly Hills” by Weezer, “Take Me Out” by Franz Ferdinand, and AC/DC as mentioned.

I like trying to match the song to the person I assign it to. (“Beverly Hills” girl is actually a huge Celine Dion fan, which is why I don’t ask her what she wants her ringtone to be.)

One of my co-workers has the sound of a crying baby as her ring-tone…and it’s amusing for like the first two times you hear it, and after that you want to hit her/smash her phone/kill the imaginary baby, etc.

Especially since the baby gets more and more upset the longer you wait to answer the phone.

Ditto for those yowling cat ringtones.

T-Mobile offers Cake’s “No Phone” as a ringtone, which I keep meaning to download. “No phone, no phone, I just want to be alone today…”

A friend of mine has a very authentic sounding cat’s meow for his. Confuses the hell out of people.

You guys DO have some cool tones. My faves so far are Mario and the martians. Sweet!

I just have a uhm…i forget what it’s called. One note at a time. Monophonic?

Anyway, I had my more musical friend transcribe the opening to “Nothin’ but a G Thang” - you’d recognize it if you heard it. The cool thing is that it sounds very much like the song even though it’s not polyphonic.

I like it because I am a very white, very boring, very nerdy girl from Ohio. Most of my friends have no idea what it is but it always makes me giggle when my pocket starts kickin’ it old school.

I have the chorus from “Big Yellow Taxi” on mine. Most people like it, or so they say.

I used to be the person who hated ringtones until I got my new phone. I was bored and surfing around the company website when I found the PERFECT ringtone that I now and forever always will use when my sister calls me.

It’s “Yakety Sax,” the Benny Hill theme song.

It ROCKS.

The guy across the hall from me had this really annoying siren-type ring tone. I couldn’t understand why he would choose that, until I realized it was actually the “red alert” sounds from Star Trek.

Brainiac4’s is the theme from Buckaroo Bonzai.

I have a Blackberry - ringtones not good on Blackberry.

I have the riff from Tom Sawyer. You know that part? With the drums? Yeah, that one. I love it.
