Cell phone ringtone...

My first post using my new nick! Yay!

I’m surfing my cell service provider’s site for a new ringtone. I’m bored with the current ones I have. Not that I don’t enjoy them but it’s time for some new stuff.

My most current one is a voice tone of Quagmire’s catch phrase (‘Family Guy’).

:sound of phone ringing:
Giggity, giggity, gi-gah-dee!
Awwl-right!

I’m easily entertained and this will make me happy.

So…what’s your current ringtone? Be honest.

Yes, you with the “Achy Breaky Heart” ringtone - 'fess up!
My old nick was “silver1”. I’ve become much cooler now. :stuck_out_tongue:

My ringtone sounds like a phone. Call me crazy, but that’s the way I like it.

I’m using a clip from a Morphine song, “Super Sex” at the moment. I was using The Toyes “Smoke Two Joints” but I got a call when a cop was around and he gave me a dirty look so I changed it. I’m also fond of Cake “Shut The Fuck Up” but that one tends to get a lot of people riled up for some reason. I have a smartphone with a ringtone editor loaded on so I can use pretty much anything I can find for a ringtone.

Kids these days, with their fancy music cell phones! Back in my day, we had two tin cans and a string. . .and we liked it!.

Ahem, sorry.

My ringtone is presently Twist and Shout by the Beatles, but I also regularly use the opening to When Doves Cry. When my boyfriend calls it’s Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne, but that’s just a joke (his ex, upon finding out we were dating, put that video and song all over her MySpace. The song goes “Hey, hey, you, you, I don’t like your girlfriend.” I think it’s hilarious, so my ringtone it is).

Currently it’s the chorus to Famous Last Words by My Chemical Romance.

Before it was a phone ringing, and before that is was a clip from Foamy the Squirrel saying “HEY! Follow the sound of my voice and kill whoever’s holding the phone!”

Mine is the **Super Mario Brothers theme ** (the original NES game). I like to kick it “old school”.

[sub]BTW, I think I’m too old (36) to say “kick it old school”. In fact, you young’uns have probably stopped saying it over a year ago.[/sub]

“O Valencia” by the Decemberists for the general ringtone.

The Agency Ring (a beeping ring like you hear in offices) for when people from my comedy troupe call.

I like a unified theme: “Baba O’Riley” for phone calls, “Who are You” for text messages.

Mine’s an MP3 of a real, two brass gongs phone ringer. I just haven’t figured out what kind of phone they recorded it from. I do know it’s not a Western Electric Princess, Trimline, 2500, 302 or Spacesaver. (Yes, I am a bit of a phone geek)

Probably just as well that it doesn’t sound like a WE ringer, or I’d be running from phone to phone trying to figure out which one was ringing.

It’s the same ring that the phones in CTU (from 24) have.

The nice part of having a PDA phone is that I can easily play any mp3 or wav file as a ringtone, I don’t have to purchase them through the service provider, or hack the device to get them on there. Part of me wants to record myself screaming the word “RING!” or “PHONE CALL!” and use that, but it would be SOOOOO obnoxious, and it would undoubtedly go off in class (cause the one time I would forget to put it in silent mode would be the first time I actually get a call while in class.)

Back in my day, we just yelled really loud, and we liked it more

I currently have the chorus of “Foxy, foxy” by Rob Zombie as my ringtone.

In trying to be funny I forgot to tell you guys what I have. It’s Beast and the Harlot by Avenged Sevenfold

So you have Verizon then? Cuz mine is ringing, then Peter going, “Oh god, oh my god, oh god!” then ringing, then Quagmire: “Oh my god . . . Oh my god,” and so on.

Honestly, I chose it because it’s one of the few that had actual ringing and was loud enough to hear. I was missing calls because the stupid Verizon music ring couldn’t project beyond the inside of my purse. And my husband uses the old fashioned telephone ring, so I wanted something different.

I’ve been messing around with mine for the past week just for the hell of it.
As of right now my default ringtone for phone calls is the theme to the movie Halloween with the following exceptions:

My husband - Thunderball by Tom Jones
My two sisters - The Addams Family theme
My oldest son - The Imperial March from Star Wars
My mother - Darth Vader breathing
A friend in NJ - The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly theme
My ex (father of my sons)/youngest son in PA - Rocky Fanfare - the theme from Rocky
A friend in Santa Barbara - the theme from Charlie Brown(it says Linus and Lucy with the Band)

And What’s New, Pussycat? by Tom Jones alerts me of any new text messages.

Mine is just a regular ringing tone, but when I got my first mobile capable of customised ringtones I had the five tones from Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

My ring TONE is a song from the musical Spring Awakening. My ring BACK (what other people here when they call, instead of my phone ringing) is Age of Aquarius.

I have a different ringtone depending on who is calling.

For Mrs. Small - Brown Eyed Girl
For fraternity guys - My Hero by Foo Fighters
Everyone else - All My Life by Foo Fighters

Apparently I’m a Foo Fighters fan. I also have the Quagmire one and an Aqua Teen Hunger Force one that I don’t use.

Brendon

I’ve got Sprint right now. I’m also pondering getting an “American Dad” call tone. Can’t decide between Stan and his (from memory, might not be exact - sorry) “Women have feelings, they come from their ovaries” or Roger’s quip - “Who do you have to probe around here to get a Chardonnay?!”

I use the theme from ER. No one else I know uses that & I can hear it well. I originally wanted “Who Are You?” by The Who, but I just could not hear it well enough (except for the scream part).
