What are you? a white supremacist, sympathizer, Uncle Tom, black panther, or hippy?

Everybody is one of the above. The hippy is in question though, because I’m not sure I trust somebody who loves everything equally. Do you love white and detest non-white? Do you love darker types but only in secret? Do you love white but claim to be a supporter of the darker types depending on company? Do you believe that dark is king and white is evil? Or are you a weird type that actually loves both equally, (probably due to a drug induced haze)?

Personally, I think I am a black panther. White sucks ass! Everything you see, read and hear is all about how white is better. Nothing is ever mentioned about color except how if you want the best, it has to be all white. I disagree. I detest white. White has no purpose and is highly overrated. Perhaps I’m militant. If it weren’t for the future of the wife and the kids, I’d be first in line carrying a rifle, wearing a beret, sunglasses and bandoliers of ammunition. You white folks are ruining me! Your temper flaring? Hands shaking? Your mind already working on a good “Slam me down” retort? GOOD!!!

Lets face it. Where the HELL can a guy get some good chicken (turkey can be substituted)???

Really, you go to the store and you can get whole wings, but usually it’s drumettes. I don’t want drumettes, I want the forearm of the wing, the part with two bones! Dark meat tastes better, and the skin on the forearm is just perfect in terms of amount and fat to compliment the meat. It’s the best part of a buffalo wing! White meat sucks. Dark meat is where the flavor is.

What is with the All White Meat Chicken advertising thing nowadays? Health? If you are buying deep fried hunks of chicken at a restaurant, it’s not a health issue, even though it might make you feel better. Any restaurant you go into, you can find a grilled chicken breast. How many offer a grilled chicken thigh (the holy grail of the chicken)?

I’m a dark meat lover and will throw away the breast of chicken in a minute. I have never understood how somebody can actually prefer dry, flavorless white meat over moist, greasy flavor packed dark meat. Go where the flavor is… dark meat. Yes, I know, you can make white meat taste good. about 3 weeks ago my wife used our own dry rub under the skin of a roast chicken and it was amazing. Point is, I think dark meat tastes great on its own and white meat is pretty lame without outside help.

Where do you stand on poultry race?

Are you sick of drumettes, and AWMC strips anyplace you go?

“and AWMC strips anyplace you go”???

Okay, so eating dark meat may make you stupid.

That should have read:
“and are AWMC strips sellers anyplace you don’t go”.

I’m a hippie, but only cos everything evens out: I eat chicken breast before legs and thighs, and all white meat nuggets, but I eat turkey fairly indescriminately. And I agree with you 100% on the whole “double boned” dark meat wing section, Turbo Dog. (Unfortunately, so does everyone else in my family, and when we get hot wings we pick through the whole box to eat the doubles, and have ten or eleven white drumsticks left over that nobody wants to eat).

None of the above.

I’m a black panther through and through. I can’t stand white meat unless it’s in a soup or stir fry.

Actually, I don’t eat turkey at all because I find even the dark meat is too dry.

I love duck, which most people claim is too greasy. Go figure.

I’m a vegetarian. Does that make me a hippy?

The thigh of the chicken is not only the best part–it’s also the cheapest! I strictly grill only dark meat: thighs and drumsticks.

Pantellerite, when’s dinner?

I’m strictly a Black Panther. I eat the dark meat only. Last night, in fact, I walked out of KFC because they ran out of dark meat.

Actually, MsRobyn, I’ve got a small pack of thighs in the fridge waiting to be grilled for tonight’s dinner.

But honestly, I don’t think that they’re going to survive past lunch.

I dislike everybody of all colors equally.

What’s my label?

Dark meat is king. But why would anyone eat the wings when there’s all that yummy thigh meat out there?

Wings. Yech.

Anyone besides me addicted to turkey necks? Should I have kept that to myself?

I’m not sure what I am. I do love dark meat but a breast, when prepared properly, can be heavenly.

I only cook/buy thighs and breasts, though, when I buy parts.

(hanging reddened face in shame, as in whooshed – didn’t read the OP carefully enough)

I’m one who believes they should breed anything but white meat out of chickens, turkeys, edible fowl in general.

It has little to do with the “breast man” syndrome, either.

Most dark meat is attached to bones in such small quantities that it’s a fight to get at it. I don’t like messing with bones! Don’t eat fish because my mom couldn’t cook fish without leaving thousands of little bitty bones to have to find and spit out.

I will eat pork chops but hate dealing with the bone. Same with T-bones. Love the meat, hate the hassle.

But white meat chicken tastes better. Bones aside, if they swapped places and the white was nearer the bone, I guess I’d just give up on chicken, too.

Give me white meat or give me a hamburger.

Depends on the cooking method.

Chicken that is to be eaten as a main course, such as fried, grilled and baked chicken must be dark meat.

Chicken with sauces, like glorified chicken, or chicken used as part of a dish, such as chicken salad or enchiladas, is better with white meat.

Smoked Turkey breast is best for sandwiches, otherwise I’m not a fan of turkey.

I like the dark meat better, but I’m not a huge fan of chicken anyway. (Unless it’s in a curry, but everything tastes good in a curry.) It’s always struck me as a sort of lowest-common-denominator meat – bland, not prohibited by any religion, hypoallergenic. Suitable for large dinners, but dull. Give me a nice pork roast or lamb chop any day.

Mmmm… nothin’ beats good ol’ yard bird.

I’m a member of the NAACP. Given my choice, I much prefer the dark meat of thighs, wings, and the occasional drum, but I’m not militant about it. I have no problem with white meat, but I don’t like to be told it’s inherently better than dark meat.

I make the best, moistest chicken and turkey you could ever want. Low temp, long cooking time - the white meat is amazing! And while I’ll eat either, my first choice is white. mmmmmmmmmmm
