What are you currently binge-watching?

I just finished watching the entire three seasons of Fresh Meat, and now I’m working on* Moone Boy*. So far, the latter is nowhere near as good as the former.

A friend told my that I really should watch Justified. Just finished all seasons up to the current season.

Just started American Horror Story.

Another Justified binge watcher here. I’ve got “Bloody Harlan” queued up to watch first thing when I get home, and then it’s on to Season 3.

First: I think some folks don’t quite understand the concept of the binge-watch…

Second, to the OP: Excuse me… you are watching ANYTHING besides Breaking Bad??? Really? What the hell is wrong with you? How is that possible? I was introduced to BB after the 3rd season…33 episodes were available to me to watch. I watched all 33 in 48 hours. THAT is binge watching. (I have since re-watched every episode except the last 3 at least once, mostly around 3-4 times, first season about 6. Because I binge-watch WITH friends and I have listened to every available commentary track, largely in hopes of hearing Banks and Cranston be totally hilarious and adorable…)

My recent binge watches (Meaning I watched all available episodes in order without anything else in between) were, in reverse order:

[ul]
[li]Broadchurch (ACES! Great stuff…) [/li][li]Amber (easy binge, only 4 episodes…Netflix, Irish, very good) [/li][li]2nd Season House of Cards (Liked it better than first season, still hate Wright, LOVED the fun little surprise in Episode 11 that was somehow really not all that surprising…) [/li][li]The Bridge (US) Loved this. Really fresh.[/li][li]Kidnapped - I liked this, I’m sad it didn’t get picked up. But I like Jeremy Sisto…[/li][/ul]

This is in my queue - glad to hear I might like it.

One of my favorites. The second season, developing the friendship between Carol and Bev, is awesome. What’s inadvertently funny is all the Brits trying to pass for Californians; they nail the accents well enough, but are too pale and out of shape.

I caught this on Netflix because people raved about it - it’s got good action, but the world-building seems nonsensical (even for anime) and most of the characters awful (getting cartoons to overact is something of an achievement). I can’t sit thru the next season just for Mikasa.

Forgot to answer the OP: This month I re-watched Veronica Mars for all three seasons, which I enjoyed as much as the first time. I also bought Neptune Noir, a collection of essays and articles written about the show while it was on, with editorial comments by the show’s creator Rob Thomas. Pretty interesting. I’d no idea VM had been Stephen King’s favorite show while on the air.

After that I re-watched Life, another canceled too soon fave of mine. Well worth watching, especially if you’re of a philosophical bent; it’s about an LA Cop who was wrongfully convicted and spent 12 years in prison, whose settlement was $60m and reinstatement with promotion to Homicide Detective. He spent his time in prison studying “The Path of Zen” and applies zen principles to investigating crime.

Teen Wolf, I just finished yesterday. Entertaining enough, but your typical teen romance/supernatural thriller hybrid. A friend has raved about it for years and I wanted to see what was up.

I’ve just started The Unusuals, which is pretty good. It was dumped after only ten eps, and I wonder if others avoided it because of ads at the time - they portrayed it as about over-the-top eccentric cops, like a screwball comedy. It’s better than that, from the two eps I’ve seen.

I like to binge-watch a little slower than 33 programs in 48 hours! I take my lunch hour and watch, and it’s a great break at work. I get to savor just a little bit more, which is a good thing. I find with true binge-watching you forget some of the detail without a savoring period.

Game of Thrones season 3
The Wire season 5

I have 4 or 5 episodes left of Veronica Mars. It’s free right now on Amazon Prime. That is a really good show. My wife and I are really looking forward to the movie. I wish I had seen it the first time around; although I feel kind of pervy watching a show that was probably aimed at high school girls.

I might give Life another try. I remember catching a few episodes when it premiered; but wasn’t thrilled about it. Maybe it’s something that would interest me now.

I really enjoyed the Unusuals when it came out; but I could sense it didn’t have staying power. I’m glad I’m not the only one who enjoyed it.

Agreed, I certainly didn’t plan it, I just couldn’t stop! And that’s part of the reason I have re-watched it all so many times…

ST: ToS. I got the complete remastered sets for Xmas.

Man, some great epis. And some duds. And some I don’t remember.

I want very much to watch every damned episode in one sitting. You gotta be strong, and still eat meals and bathe and stuff!

Again, trying very hard not to just watch it and nothing else.

Recently I re-watched the previous seasons of The Americans and Game of Thrones to prepare for their upcoming seasons.

On Netlflix I have been working my way through a re-watch of Frasier. I forgot how great that show is. It seems like a lost classic.

Been zooming through Six Feet Under, almost done with season two. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen, dig the sporadic gallows humor and the way the characters bounce off each other. I just want to give Ruth a big hug. I even enjoy Claire, the teenage girl character, which is a rarity in shows like this. I guess Tony’s daughter from the Sopranos was OK, but I didn’t look forward to her storylines.

One problem though. It’s getting to the point where the amount of drama feels artificial. It started off grounded. Brenda/Billy and the book stuff was kinda loopy but whatever, but now I can envision the writers rubbing their hands and cackling with glee as they pile horrible ordeals on the character’s plates for da lawlz. Everyone has to have 2-3 ongoing disasters. It’s still entertaining and well done, but my suspension of disbelief split.

Think it happened around when Billy was somehow released from the hospital and is now grooming Claire, Nate told Brenda about his brain disorder after they proposed, Brenda is fucking strangers theoretically due to her book but actually because she herself is fucked up, and then she broke up with her nice prostitute friend, and then surprise, Lisa shows up pregnant! Meanwhile Nate is riding motorcycles, so I’m sure he’ll crash and be paralyzed or something. And then Keith’s druggie sister ran over a hobo and fled the scene so him and David have to take care of the niece now, but their relationship is on and off again. And a loan shark is hunting down Nikolai which amuses me since I originally thought he was in the Russian mob and the flower thing was just a front. What, is Ruth gonna have to cap a bitch? Plus I’m sure Kroehner is gonna come back and mess everything up again. SHEESH!

I’m curious where this is going since it can’t get much worse unless everyone gets cancer-AIDS and kills themselves. People say this show has one of the best endings ever, so it probably isn’t that.

For my money the best two best deaths so far are the Santa biker wiping out in front of the kids and the cat assassinating the big titted pornstar in the tub. The golf ball one has a high “what” factor though. How do you die from being hit in the head by a golf ball? Even if your skull was made of eggshells I find that hard to believe. I liked the heart attack fake out though.
