I hear Alaskan cloudberries are wonderful … too bad I didn’t try any when I lived there!
My Alaskan husband, Chuck, is berry berry sick
I have enjoyed all the chuck berry references, also the wine wine wine song … the Dope rocks
I picked other - dewberries. They are similar to blackberries but smaller. They grow wild behind the building where I work and the bushes will start to produce soon. For six weeks or so, I’ll get to enjoy a handful for an afternoon snack. Very tasty!
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but those who didn’t select boysenberry failed the test. Representatives will be visiting you shortly; it’s best if you don’t struggle when they take you away.
This. Black raspberries are the bestest berry. Especially sprinkled with sugar and swimming in milk.
I have no opinion on Buckcherry vs Chuck Berry.
You’re in luck - black caps = black raspberries!
Yep. Black raspberries are the greatest. They do not taste like blackberries or red raspberries. My great-grandfather always said red raspberries tasted like bedbugs smell.
Blueberries have become my latest favorite. What you can do with them is endless. I’ve made coffeecakes, streusel-topped muffins, scones, cream cheese/blueberry pies and cheesecakes, pancakes, waffles and stuffed French toast, ice cream topping and blueberry/rhubarb jam.
They’re also good in oatmeal with brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon and with cottage cheese.
Not tired of them yet.
I prefer raspberries, though I buy strawberries more often. It’s hard to get a pint of raspberries perfectly fresh, and even then I have to plan to eat them that day or the next at the very latest. They turn to mush so quickly.
