What are you looking forward to?

Good point. Although I wish you’d mentioned earlier that the Chinese zodiac hates you. Frankly I have enough problems already without being linked to an enemy of the Jade Emperor. Please try to maintain a low profile, for both our sakes.

OTOH, your jinx might just hook up with mine and I’d get to ‘enjoy’ the company of both, leaving you free.

Yeah. My wife getting over whatever-it-is so I can, too.
And Mexico, I guess. But that’s over a month away and I’m not that much of an optimist. Could get hit by a bus or a giant meteor could strike the Yucatan by then.

One week from today, I’ll be sitting* in the 10th row, right in front of Pete Townshend.

*Well, standing, really. And generally rocking out.

Our performance tomorrow night (Tuesday) of Britten’s War Requiem in the Opera House. And my trip to Rome the next day.

A week long training course in the language Fulfulde. A whole week of lazing around in an air conditioned hotel drinking cheap beer and watching music videos. And hopefully by the end of it I will be able to speak better Fulfulde and interact better with the women and children in my community.

I have lots of little things to look forward to…

Most of all, I’m looking forward to the day (well, night really) when I get more than two hours of unbroken sleep.

  • spring! when the days are long and the weather sucks less!
  • my best friend’a baby shower and the subsequent baby
  • the same best friend’s birthday adn accompanying “party”
  • today! it’s a day off!
  • umm… Lost on Wednesday and the new season of America’s Next Top Model in a couple weeks
  • After about two and a half months, the title for one of our cars arrived on Saturday and my dad will go tomorrow to do whatever it is you do with a car title. So by Tuesday evening, we’ll finally have two cars again!
  • getting my ACT scores back

Finding out whether these “minor unrelated undiagnosed medical problems” I’ve had for 23 years are Multiple Sclerosis. (For the worrybugs: whatever it is, I already have it, and I’d love to get a diagnosis other than “something that happens to you, but it doesn’t appear deadly”)

Finding out/deciding whether I’ll stay in Switzerland after May. My Swiss boss is assuming I will. I hate it when people assume they know what I want and have been getting headhunter calls left and right.

Making 70 with Corazon (dwarven two-red-braids huntress) and 58 Ombras (dwarven, black-ponitailed, ah, female alchemist specializing in discreet jobs) and 58 with Paz (warrior gnomette with huge pink hair, the name means Peace) and… (World of Warcraft)

Someday getting a call from Mom that does not include a single bit of bad news. I don’t really believe it will happen but hey, hope springs eternal until you die :stuck_out_tongue: (Latest bit of good news: They are trying for “the girl” already, since The Nephew went and was a boy and SiL wants a girl. My money says it will be another boy)

Well…at the end of March, I get to live free and run wild, naked through the woods…!

Or, actually rather I just get to be free of Japan and free of a regular work schedule. And from there I get to start doing work for myself, which will include such things as:

  1. Get the final edit of my book done, and sent out to writing agents/publishers.
  2. Start work on supah secret programming project alpha.
  3. Start working on a webcomic.
  4. Have time to actually work on drawing projects for people.
  5. Actually have time to go through a calculus and linear algebra book and do the practice questions
  6. Sleep! Beautiful sleep! We’ll get to see what the world feels like when actually fully rested on a regular basis.
  7. Maybe start picking up baking (baguettes)

So I’m pretty spiffed. Won’t be doing all of that at once, but I can probably allocate to do any 3 at a time (ignoring 6, which is a given.)

I’m looking forward to May! Let me count the ways…

  1. Mr. Bunny and I are going to Disneyland! I haven’t been since I was 12, and he’s never been, so it will be wonderful and silly and I’m going to act like a little kid and buy tons of crap I don’t need. And the reason we’re going to Disneyland in May is because…
  2. My 30th birthday! I’ve been looking forward to my 30’s for a long time, I think it’s going to be good. And last, but most certainly not least…
  3. Pirates of the Caribbean 3!!!

Yessir, May’s gonna be a good one.

I’m always looking forward to something. I looked forward to lunch all morning. It was fantastic. Other things I’m looking forward to:

  • Spring, so I can walk outside again. 'Til then I’ll still look forward to my evening walks indoors.
  • My nephew’s graduation from high school this spring, even though I’m entirely too young to have an 18-year-old nephew (I’m closer in age to him than I am to his mother).
  • The birth of my best friend’s baby this summer.
  • A close friend moving back here, and spending more time with her, her husband, and kids as a result.
  • New seasons of Entourage and Big Love, and the Sopranos finale. Also looking forward to my weekly favorites, Lost, Medium, American Idol, the Office, and Supernatural.
  • Going bargain-hunting at Goodwill this weekend.
  • Going to Sioux Falls with my husband the following weekend and going to Old Navy. I’ll be looking forward to it even more if my mom decides to come along.
  • Getting Dance Dance Revolution and the new Sims expansion pack on the 27th.
  • Starting the new book my husband gave me for Valentine’s Day.

I was so curious that I had to look it up; apparently it’s on Showtime. However, it does look neat, and whenever it comes out on DVD, I’ll be watching it.

I’m looking forward to next month’s visit from my fiance. I’ll be taking him out to dinner for his birthday, and maybe we’ll go see an exhibit at one of the local museums.
I’m also looking forward to June/July, when we will finally be moved in together. Right now we’re in a period where we’re saving up for it and living “at home.”
In the fall, I’m going to be going back to school, and earning a master’s degree (given that I make it through those two-three years) that’ll give me a job that I can enjoy.
I’m looking forward to getting married within the next 2-3 years. However, I don’t think about the process, because it stresses me out.
