What are your favorite songs that begin with the letter N? See rules in OP: Tiebreaker Poll Added

Rules:

  • If you edit your already-posted entry to make a change, I may not see it. Please do not re-post your entire list – this gets confusing - just add a new post with changes or additions only. EXAMPLE: Remove “Yesterday” and add “You Light Up My Life.”

  • You are allowed to make changes to your entries up until the time that the polls are posted.

  • Please do not post title suggestions for others to submit. This takes a little of the fun out of the process. It is ok, after the polls are posted, to name titles that have been overlooked.

  • Submissions are limited to 5 per person.

  • Exclude articles such as “a”, “an”, “the”, etc. that begin the title. Example: “The Hokey Pokey” belongs in the H poll, not the T poll.

  • Exclude titles that begin with punctuation, such as an apostrophe, parenthesis, etc.

  • You must include the artist (not the composer, unless they are the same person) or your submission will not be counted.

  • Polls will appear in this thread once submissions begin to wind down.

  • Classical releases are excluded.

  • Final poll, also in this thread, will narrow the field to 10.

  • Thanks for playing!

No Mercy - The Stranglers

No Quarter - Led Zeppelin

New Amsterdam - Elvis Costello

New York City Cops - The Strokes

Ninety Nine And A Half Won’t Do - Wilson Picket

Numb - Meg Myers
New Shapes - Charli XCX (Feat. Christine and the Queens and Caroline Polachek)
Never Ending - BENEE
Not Running - The Beths

There seem to be surprisingly few (good) song starting with N !

Never My Love – The Association

No Roots – Alice Merton

The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down – The Band

Nothing Compares 2 U – Sinead O’Connor

And we really should have his one in there.

mmm

Nowhere Man - The Beatles

Night Moves - Bob Seger

Nothing From Nothing - Billy Preston

The Night Has a Thousand Eyes - Bobby Vinton

A Night in Tunisia - Charlie Parker

Ninety nine luft balloons by Nena.

“99 Luftballoons” was already covered in the numbers thread.

mmm

Both “99 Luftballons” and “99 Red Balloons” were mentioned in the thread for songs that begin with a number or punctuation mark.

(Plus, if you were going to spell it out, the German version would be “Neunundneunzig Luftballons.”)

New York - U2
Nearly Forgot My Broken Heart - Chris Cornell
No Time To Think - Dylan
Never Comes the Day - Moody Blues
No Time - The Guess Who

Nightswimming - R.E.M.

No Diggity - Blackstreet

No Woman, No Cry - Bob Marley

New Year’s Day - U2

No One - Alicia Keys

Nice one! I’m not used to being beaten to the punch on songs this recent.

Ha! Didn’t click that puppy.

Never Gonna Not Dance Again, P!nk
Never There, Cake
New York, New York, Frank Sinatra
Nice Guys Finish Last, Green Day
No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature, Guess Who

(Is the Guess Who song considered one song or two?)

Nature Boy - Nat King Cole

Neither One of Us (Wants To Be The First To Say Goodbye) - Gladys Knight

Nelson Mandela - The Specials (note: “Free” not part of the original title, added in later versions. And wasn’t covered in the F thread.)

Ne me quitte pas - Jacques Brel

New York State Of Mind - Billy Joel

Nuthin’ But a G Thang – Dr. Dre
New San Antonio Rose – Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys
No Scrubs – TLC
Need You Tonight – INXS

No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature is a single track on their Best Of album. Many years ago, I tried to find recordings of each as a separate song, and came up empty. So I’d say it has to be considered one song.
