What are your video gaming platforms?

Interpret “video game” to mean any genre of any competitive or similar activity on any electronic platform.

PC only here.

Poll is public, multiple choices allowed.

Recent Systems:
Xbox 360
Wii
Nintendo DS (phat and Lite)

Older ones I also have:
NES
SNES
Nintendo 64
PlayStation 2
Dreamcast
GameBoy
Gameboy Color
Gameboy Advance (both the original and SP)

The one I had to think about was the PC. I don’t buy video games or it any more, although I download little games or play online ones. I prefer sitting on a couch or recliner while playing games.

I would have put “Internet Browser” as a separate choice, as PC is too broad a category otherwise.

PC and Mac are separate choices, but DS and PSP are lumped together? Someone’s bias is showing…

Okay, from now on I’ll have a meta thread before I start another poll where we can hash out the poll choices to death first, before a single vote is counted, mmkay?

I use my PC for almost all of my gaming, but I have my PS2, (original) XBox, and SNES hooked up and ready to go. I keep considering buying a PS3 and/or maybe a 360, but neither seems to have enough of my type of game to justify buying one. I really can’t get into portable gaming systems.

Dang. I selected WAAY too many:

PC, Mac, 360, Orig Xbox, Wii, iPhone, DS.

PC and NDS here. I don’t really see why I’d need more, since there are already way too many good PC and NDS games I’ll never end up playing. I do like the NDS for its portability and easy access to Spanish versions of games…

My current games for the platforms
PC - WoW
PS3 - Currenlty the new Wolf 3D, have new Ninja Gideon waiting.
360 - Guitar Hero
Wii - Raving Rabbits
PSP - Sudoku, and Poker game
DS - That brain game can’t remember the title
cell phone - Little race car game

I also own an original XBox, Super Nintendo, orignal Nintendo, Game Boy, Sega Genesis with Sega CD. None of those are connected, and the Nintendo is actually in pieces.

PC only. I don’t play that often either.

PC, PS2 and Xbox360 are all used presently. Were I to open old, dusty boxes I could also play SNES, NES, PS1 and Gameboy (original) games.

@**Otanx **: Ninja Gideon. I am stealing that

PC. I stopped playing console games when I was 14 or so.

This seems like a bad idea to me. Maybe you should run a poll to see if others think your meta thread is a good idea.

Har har har. The point remains, the Mac has no gaming presence, it’s all year old ports from the PC and WoW. Hardly enough to be considered a separate platform. The DS and the PSP on the other hand are very distinct systems that mechanically cannot overlap their libraries in any way. Lumping them together is bias, whether you want to accept my joke in good humor or not.

Currently:
Wii
DS Lite
PC
NES, SNES, PlayStation

Formerly:
Atari 2600
Game Boy Pocket
Nintendo 64
Game Boy Advance/SP/micro (yeah, I had a micro… still do, actually, but I don’t actually play it, what with the DS being able to play all those games with a much bigger screen)
XBox

… I think that’s it.

ETA: Trying to sell the wife on a PS3 strictly for the Blu-Ray player. A decent current-gen racing game would be a bonus for me

Currently:

PC (DOS)
Genesis, Saturn
NES, SNES, N64, Wii/Gamecube, original Game Boy
Colecovision w/2600 adapter

The Wii is the only modern system that I own, and all I do with it is play NGC games and Virtual Console games that I can’t find or afford the actual carts for.

I’m a fuddy-duddy.

Yeah, that’s the “reason” my husband used, too. :stuck_out_tongue: We did have issues with our last DVD player at the time, so it’s not totally outrageous. Fortunately, we’re both gamers; I use it for Rock Band 2 and The Beatles: Rock Band. He’s been playing Bioshock lately.

Game on PC, PS3, Wii, DSi.

PS2 which you can pry from my cold dead hands,
XBox 360
Wii,
Gamecube, which is rather obselete now with the Wii, but I still have it. Perhaps I’ll try to trade it in?
and PC

Though I vastly prefer console gaming. I am sick unto death of having to upgrade my PC often enough to try and keep up with the new games. I like controllers, and I just love consoles and tend to think they are the future of gaming.

Or just an oversight where malice never existed. Next time I make a poll I’ll go sit on top of a mountaintop for 5 years, making sure it is absolutely 100% perfect first before I come back down.
