What bands have you seen more than once?

I caught Wilco recently for the second time. I’m not a huge concert-goer, but I have a long enough list that it would be boring to put it out there.

But, ignoring small local stuff that you saw in college 50 times, or one of your friend’s bands. . .who have you seen more than once? It’s a considerably shorter list for me.

Wilco
Ben Harper
Gov’t Mule
Soundgarden
Yo La Tengo

There’s probably something else out there, but I can’t think of it right now.

Dashboard Confessional (4x)
Saves the Day (3x)
Heart (3x)
Elvis Costello
Hotwater Music (not on purpose, although they’re good: they opened for Dashboard twice.)
Does Davey Van Bohlen and Dan Didier count as I’ve seen them in both The Promise Ring and Maritime?
Oh, and if they do count, then Scott Schoenbeck would count for four times, as I’ve seen him in The Promise Ring and with Dashboard.

And soon to be 2x: Coheed and Cambria, when they come to Warped in 2 weeks. And I could make Bad Religion 2x while I’m there too, but I am so not going to an open-field pit in the middle of an August day in Florida to hear Bad Religion.

More than once, eh?

Black Sabbath
Jethro Tull
Edgar Winter
Limp Bizkit
Staind

Black Sabbath was the first group I ever saw in concert, in 1972. My mom had to drive me. Shit, I’m old.

I saw The Replacements two times and I seem to remember seeing Peter Gabriel twice as well.

AC/DC (3 times)
Jethro Tull (10)
Iron Maiden (2)
Weird Al Yankovic (4)
Van Halen (2) (both with Sammy)

I think that’s it. I plan to see Fairport Acoustic Convention next year again if they come back to Pittsburgh.

The Stones 4 times. Each time the band cooked Jagger sang like shit.

Elvis Costello and The Imposters or Elvis Costello and Steve Nieve 3 times - every show a gem.

Chris Isaak three times.

The Sex Pistols twice 100 Club.

And many times for Aussie bands:

Midnight Oil
INXS
Cold Chisel
Australian Crawl
The Saints
The Church
Sunnyboys

I see Local H every time they’re in Boston. Twice in Providence.

Stones
ZZ Top
Robert Plant
Jethro Tull
Clapton
Jerry Jeff Walker
Willie Nelson
Allman Bros.
John Kay (revised Steppenwolf)

Smaller? Rocky Athas, Point Blank, Fools.

Non-Canadian:
Radiohead
Nine Inch Nails
Tool
Weezer
Interpol
Bloc Party
Coldplay
Boom Bip
The Strokes
Bright Eyes
Incubus
Pearl Jam
The Stereophonics
Jimmy Eat World
theSTART

Canadian:
Broken Social Scene
Arcade Fire
Stars
Our Lady Peace
Matthew Good
Matthew Good Band
Kid Koala
The Dears
Buck 65
The Tragically Hip
Sloan

Festivals and bizarre opening band combinations help. I’m probably missing a couple.

Most obvious answer evah!

Nah, can’t be. Could it?
