What's the most times you've seen your favorite band/artist in concert?

I just bought tickets to see one of my favorite bands, Apocalyptica, here in Orlando, which will mark the 5th time I’ve seen them.

The first was at a House of Blues in Cleveland, then I saw them at a festival in Indy, once again at a small venue in Raleigh (Shout out to Knowed Out!) and most recently in Tampa with Ms. Cups.

More or less I’ve gotten lucky that they continue to tour in places within a reasonable driving distance from where I live. But still, 5 times is a lot to see one band*.

I’m sure you all have numbers that would destroy mine, so what is the most times you’ve seen your favorite artist?

ETA: Dammit. Meant to say “in concert” in the thread title. I reported myself already…can a mod help?

*coming in second place is a band called Halestorm, who I’ve accidentally seen three times. I say accidentally cuz the damn band is always doing the same concert the band I want to see is. I haven’t seen them in ages, but I had a good streak going there for a while with them.

I fixed the title as you asked.

I’ve seen Drive-By Truckers seven or eight times. Driven thousands of miles in usually snow/rain to do it.

I’m thinking about driving out Colorado to see them next month. Don’t know. It’s a long drive. But they are headlining, and the other band seems pretty cool.

I was at two shows they recorded for a live album, and made it into the artwork for the album, twice! Right in the front row!

Springsteen. Once. In Hartford CT in 2000. It was awesome.

Counting Crows, 4 times. Louisville, Kentucky with Fiona Apple. Indianapolis, Indiana with Goo Goo Dolls. Minneapolis, Minnesota with Live. And Cincinnati, Ohio with Augustana.

Metallica, 4 times. Louisville and Lexington on the Black album tour. No opening act. They had a video presentation. Louisville with Corrosion of Conformity. Ditto in Lexington.

Queensryche, 4 times. Louisville and Lexington on the “Empire” tour. Suicidal Tendencies opened in Louisville, Warrior Soul in Lexington. Louisville on the “Promised Land” tour, with Type O Negative opening. And in a small club venue in Louisville. No opening act.

I saw Rush on every tour between Farewell To Kings and Grace Under Pressure, then one last time on the Time Machine tour a few years back. So, 6? 7?

I’ve seen Richard Thompson, both solo and with a backing band, probably 7 or 8 times.

I’ve seen Old 97s about the same number of times, including two trips to St Louis.

I’ve seen Motley Crue 4 times:

1987 Girls Girls Girls tour
1989 Dr. Feelgood tour
2005 Carnival of Sins tour
2012 The Tour with KISS

I’ve been to 22 Gwar shows, but due to…incidents…I’ve only actually seen them 20 times.

Blue Oyster Cult… Lost track, somewhere north of 25 times (including some of their small club gigs under their old name). They show up within a hundred miles, I’m there.
Edit:
Eagles, 3 times. Judas Priest, 4. Sting, 7 (Intaglio is a fan). Robert Cray, 6. Those are the big ones.

Rush. 52 times between Grace Under Pressure and the last one, R40.

Neener neener.

Cowboy Mouth, about 20 times.

I’ve seen Yes 7 times I think (Big Generator, Talk, Union, Ladder, Magnification, Heaven and Earth, and whatever they called it when they did full playthroughs of Fragile/Close to the Edge). Had tickets to ABWH, but they cancelled due to a Tony Levin illness–but I did purchase and watch a pay-per-view live performance later in the tour, if that counts.

I think Kansas is next with 4.

Oddly, I’ve seen Styx twice, both on July 4th, and neither time were they the main reason I went.

I’ve seen the Moody Blues 5 times.

And I’ve seen the following three times:

Rush
Squeeze
Paul Simon (once solo, twice with Art Garfunkel)
Phil Collins (twice with Genesis, once solo)

Clutch. At least a couple of dozen shows. But only one at a time.

Jimi Hendrix, 4 times

Singer Bowl, NY, August 23, 1968 (with Janis Joplin and the Chambers Brothers)
Woodstock, August 18, 1969
Madison Square Garden, January 28, 1970
Randall’s Island, NY, July 17, 1970

Oh by extension, this means I accidentally saw The Misfits like 10 or so times, since they would tour together a lot.

Favorite: Kesha, four times (2011; twice in the miraculous month of June 2013; 2016)
Second-favorite: Tom Petty, twice (2010, 2014)

The only other act I’ve seen more than once is Elle King. She’s not exactly one of my favorites, but my girlfriend at the time wanted to see her.

Very jealous, I’m only a 2-timer

Sonic Youth - 5 times
Jane’s Addiction - 3 times
Primus - 3 times
Jethro Tull - 3 times
Alice in Chains - 3 times
Bob Mould - 3 times
Sinead O’Conner - 3 times

and a hundred-odd 2-timers.

I saw the Oak Ridge Boys sing the national anthem at a ball game. Does that count?

They Might Be Giants, 5 times in 5 different states, over a span of about 20 years.

Uncle Bonsai and Here Come the Mummies, 3 times each, I think.
