What bands have you seen more than once?

Let’s see how much recall I have at this time of night (in roughly descending order):

Robyn Hitchcock (& The Egyptians/Venus 3)
Bob Mould
Sleater-Kinney
Belle & Sebastian
Marshall Crenshaw
Midnight Oil
The Divine Comedy
X
Yo La Tengo
Elvis Costello (various bands & combos)
Fishbone
Cinerama
Shane MacGowan & The Popes
The Replacements
R.E.M.
U2
The Aislers Set
Billy Bragg
Sonic Youth
Ned’s Atomic Dustbin
The Magnetic Fields
George Clinton’s P-Funk All-Stars
Chixdiggit!
Rush
Judas Priest

…and more, I’m sure. I’m tired.

Only ones I can think of:

INXS (last time was 1986, I hasten to add) - 2
Soundgarden - 3
Swervedriver - 2
Tortoise - 2
Skyhooks - 2
Dictators - 2
Dinosaur Jr - 2
Mark Kozelek (solo) - 2
Helmet - 2
Iggy Pop - 2
Beastie Boys - 2

At first I couldn’t believe how many you had all seen. Then I started looking at ticket stubs and remembering shows. I’ve seen a lot more than I thought.

Jeff Beck X2
John McLaughlin 3X (in various incarnations)
Robin Trower 4X
Police 2X (and Sting once in the first solo year)
Santana 3X
Eric Johnson 4X
Allman Brothers 3X (I thought there were more)
Little Feat 3X (none with Lowell, though)
Blue Öyster Cült 3X (but, always as an opener. go figure)
Gov’t Mule 5X
Derek Trucks Band 2X
Stanley Clarke 2X (if you count the New Barbarians)
Ronnie James Dio 2X (and once more with Rainbow)
the Motels 2X
Rush 2X
Kansas 2X
Steve Morse 2X(once with Kansas, once with the Dregs)
Moody Blues 2X
Zebra 2X
Edgar Winter 2X
Leon Russell 2X
Steve Miller 2X
Foghat 2X
Big Head Todd & the Monsters 2X
Shooting Star 2X (another opener)

Dude, you’ve been down at the Jaxx too much. But then again so have I, and probably the same shows! I have to say that Division is one of the better local bands. I’d go just to see them.

Iron Maiden 5+
Motorhead 10+
Black Sabbath 3
Rush 5-6
Iced Earth 2
Virgin Steele 2
Anthrax 3
Judas Priest 2
Ozzy 4-5
WASP 2
Scorpions 2
Dee Snider/Twisted Sister 3
Golden Earring 2, both times in the Netherlands

I’m sure there are a few more, but I can’t remember off the top of my head.

Have you seen him with Styx? That would be an interesting experience. Do they throw in any of Gowan’s songs. He does the best cover of The Guess Who’s These Eyes that I’ve heard. I’ve never got the chance to see him but my sister and brother-in-law saw him around the “Just call me Larry” time at Lu-Lu’s when it still existed.

No, I haven’t seen them, but I have Styx World Live 2001 and Big Bang Theory, and those are pretty darned good. He does a good job of singing Dennis De Young’s parts. And yes, they play “A Criminal Mind.” The latter album is covers, and there’s one of I Am The Walrus that is a total surprise. The video ought to still be floating around for it on the web.

I’ve never heard him sing These Eyes, and I guess I never will. But it must be interesting to hear. I didn’t know Lulu’s had closed down. It was popular at the time when I was leaving Canada, and it was quite a way to Kitchener, so I never actually went there. Too bad.

It’s nice to know that some people here like Larry Gowan!
