I hear this on a local oldies station–KRTH-101.1 FM in Los Angeles–quite often.
I had my own lyrics for the refrain:
What becomes of the brokenhearted
Who have wondered and have farted? :smiley:
But maybe that ain’t the correct title, nor do I have a clue about who the artist was. Any info? :confused:

It’s What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted by Jimmy Ruffin, I think.

Crusoe is probably correct. Jimmy Ruffin had chart success with the song in 1966 and again in 1974.

It was also covered by Dave Stewart in 1981 (with guest vocals by Colin Blunstone) and Robson & Jerome :eek: in 1996 when it reached No. 1 in the UK.
