What can y'all tell me about TEMU, the shopping site?

That is AuDrey 2.
Silly nit pick. I know.

And I’m not clicking on your second post. I just, finally got Temu to stop inundating me with stupid ads. Some how they got to my secret phone. They are relentless.
Altho’ I believe you. All the way.

(Oh god, I typed their name😳)

My wife bought a small purse at Temu a little while ago. It was very cheap and it looks very cheap, but she likes it. It’s very light so easier to carry than any of her other purses.

How do you know that the dresses you saw her in were ones she purchased from Temu?

Without knowing the whole story(and Nearwildheaven not needing to write a whole novel about it) I’m willing to assume her neighbor told her. Seems legit to me.

Unlikely.

I do not find it unlikely.

And she’s right about the clothing. They are cheap. Lil’wrekker has bought plenty of the junk. She calls them disposable. It’s a horrible thing. She went thru a phase about it. Temu, Shein and some other place, can’t recall the name.

The point is people order this stuff, a whole bunch of people. They like it or they don’t. It lasts or it don’t.
Having an opinion, seeing orange packages (Temu, seen lots of them. Shein is clear, big lettering) and putting 2 and 2 together is not all that odd.
To me.

And, hell maybe neighbor spoke to her. People do talk to neighbors.

I could tell just from her walking by that the items were poorly made, and she resumed wearing her ethnic clothing around the time that I stopped seeing those orange packages.

I think that TEMU might be an elaborate plan to overload the Western world’s logistics network. To what end, I am not quite sure yet.

I thought the whole point of “fast fashion” was that it didn’t matter if the clothes don’t hold up because you’re not going to wear them more than 2-3x at most anyway. You’re just chasing trends in disposable clothing.

Me too.
There’s a docu about it, I think it was on Paramount. Called “Brandy Hellville”

It about about the clothing store branded “Brandy Melville”

Shitty company, for one. Do all sorts of unsavory things.
The docu goes into what happens to all those discarded AND donated clothes. It’s bad, folks.
Catch it if you can.

It is on HBO.

I had never heard of Brandy Melville, but it sounds truly awful. They sell women’s clothing IN ONLY ONE SIZE? Really? What kind of business plan is that?

They were successful. Maybe still are. Haven’t been in one in awhile.

They courted a certain body type pre-teen to teen group. In fact they were considered racist. They had Nazi leanings, a sexist and skeevy pedophiliac CEO. Treated their employees(mostly teens) like crap. Awful company. I lament the few items I ever bought from them.
My teen daughters were small and skinny and they found the tees too smallish. I swear they were toddler sized.

I’ve bought quite a few things from Temu. I found items that I had seen on Amazon that I really liked but didn’t really need for the price. They were much cheaper on Temu so I bought them. I’ve purchased some clothing - some items have been really nice and a few I didn’t care for the fabric. But I requested a return on those items and it was just as easy as an Amazon return. I bought some really cute shoes that are very comfy. I bought quite a few outdoor garden metal decorations that are really nice. I have no complaints so far.

Same here. I have no complaints about the clothes I purchased from them. They were made just fine, and I’ve sewn since I was a kid so I’m able to judge that. The shoes were fine. I’ve gotten compliments on some of them. One pair of shoes still smelled of rubber cement, as though they had just finished drying, but the smell went away pretty soon.

I’ve gotten lots of casual shoes, shorts, golf shirts, t-shirts. They’re so cheap and they look cool. Not so cheap that they “fall apart” or anything. Great bargains, I love checking out the site and getting stuff. Good return policy too–never a question when I return something.

I notice recently they’re inconsistent about minimum purchase–$10? $20?), but now I note they have US warehouse, so faster shipments. And they give automatic $5 credit for late delivery. Always good quality mdse and clothes.

Their ads come up all the time on the freebie games from Google Play that I have on my tablet. What cracks me up is the slogan “Shop Like A Billionaire”

Really? Billionaires buy cheap Chinese crap?

Just for the record, they’re in the news for unfair practices to the sellers/providers of goods, in a manner reminiscent of the worst of Amazon, but with even LESS oversight. Not that I suspect it’s any surprise, but worth noting.
