What celebrities would you like to see outed?

The Simpsons bit on Ellen and Anne was great.
The thing about Ellen that I think bugged the hell out of everyone was the way she came out and out and out and out…
I saw it like this:
“Hi, I’m Ellen and I’m gay. Did I mention I’m a lesbian? You know, I’m sexually attracted to women. Gay. My TV show is about to be cancelled. I’m gay, you know.”

OK OK OK OK!!! You’re gay. WHO CARES?? (well, apparently, we do :))

I’m amazed nobody has mentioned Ricky Martin. He’s my pick if only because of the billion dollar consequences to the music business megolith. (mind you his revenue generating peak may already have passed)

One I’ve never been sure about is Michael Jackson. Is he gay or does he just like little boys?

Yep, Ricky Martin.

Remember George Michael of whatever his name was? “I will be your father figure…” etc.

BTW, I think Arnie is gay only in the sense that the only carbon based life form he is smitten with is his own. Does autoeroticism count?

It’s sad to say, but I think it’s clear that any pretty-boy is-he-or-isn’t-he is pretty much extremely likely to be gay. My evidence for this is that, in retrospect during the aftermath of the eventual revelation, you can just tell.

So Leonardo could quite likely be, in that Jonathan Taylor Thomas way.

“So what you are telling me, Percy, is that something you have never seen is slightly less blue than something else that you have never seen.”

Zette, Anne Heche is Ellen DeGeneres’s lesbian lover. Funny, Anne wasn’t a lesbian until Ellen’s famous outing–then Heche, an actress most people had never heard of before, suddenly found Ellen “irresistably beautiful” and Heche instantly became a lesbian. Anne Heche also instantly received an enormous amount of media attention.

The skit on SNL had two men dressed as the infamous lesbian couple–I don’t remember who portrayed Ellen, but David Spayde was Anne–and they were being interviewed on a talk show. The faux talk show host kept asking “Anne” questions insinuating what seemed obvious–that Heche was using Ellen for the fame–and Anne/Spayde’s replies were flat, “No, I always was a lesbian, no really, I just saw Helen and knew I was gay.” When “Ellen” corrected the name and put a hand on Heche/Spayde’s shoulder, he indignantly brushed it away saying, “Don’t touch me!” as he continued his rant of Yes, I Am a Lesbian And I Love Her. Really.

Meanwhile, Steviant, a couple of people did mention Ricky Martin–I did, as well as Trumpy 303. I saw Martin in an interview, and he kept making vague allusions to a secret he has that he could never tell anyone. Hmm. Wonder what it is.

I read that before Ellen came along, Anne Heche had a torrid affair with Steve Martin. I don’t think she’s really a lesbian, just a wag-hag.

Their characters on the show have both been married (BTW, did they ever show Maris’ face?), but David Hyde Pierce (Niles) is actually gay in real life. He admitted to it several years ago. Kelsey Grammer just got married for the fourth or fifth time, so I’m guessing he is either straight or in serious denial. But I see your point about how the characters could be perceived as homosexual, based on their prissy ways.

You remember that show “The Kids in the Hall”? They whole troupe comes off as if they were all gay, but I saw an interview with Kevin McDonald (the short guy with dark curly hair) and he swears up and down that he is straight, is supposedly married and has kids even. But who knows.

Now, my fantasy coming-out:

Bill Clinton
Shadowfox

Jesse “The Body” Ventura, just for the unbelievable repercussions that would cause for the pain-in-the-ass Reform Party.

Also, Kate Winslet, for more personal reasons…

Jerry Falwell, Pat Buchanan, Newt Gingrich and the rest of the right-wing extremists.

Not gonna happen but I can dream, can’t I?

Sex is nobody’s business except the three people involved.

Did you know: The guy who plays Bulldog on Fraiser is gay? I saw an interview with him three or four years ago.

I read too that David Hyde Peirce is gay and I really don’t care. He’s a brilliant comedic actor. I don’t think Kelsey Grammer is gay, I think he is probably a flakey actor who likes /d his nose candy too much to focus on marriage or life clearly.

As for outing, what about the brillant Nathan Lane? Is he in or out?

Shirley–when asked, Nathan was quoted saying he is “a single man in the theater who enjoys cooking. Do the math.”

Of the Kids in the Hall, only a couple are gay. Dave Foley is straight and has a family.

I heard that only Scott Thompson was gay.

I’d like to see Kevin Spacey drop the act. Methinks he doth protest too much…

As for Richard Simmons (as if it weren’t obvious – c’mon!) an ex of mine once told me he tricked with Simmons when he was living in Dallas and doing outcall on the side. What I had difficulty believing is that Simmons is really a very nice guy and his shrill stage persona is just an act. Hmm. I don’t know about that

“How about never? Does never work for you?”

How about people you always thought were gay but weren’t? I for one was amazed when Rob Lowe was caught making a porno video with two women.

Markxxx, you willing to state what hotel you worked at and when you saw Tom Cruise there with men?

I don’t think anybody should be outed, but I do wish they would all come out.

There (with a very few exceptions) is only one hotel in Chicago where the IN celebreties(sp?) stay. If you are from Chgo you’ll know. Slip the concierge a 20 he’ll tell you everything you need to know.

Chicago is nice to see famous people out themselves as it is a big city like NY or LA but it is smaller than both and midwestern so the gay community isn’t as large. And if they are making a movie here for any length of time they get exposed quick.

But it isn’t even the gay thing. We once had Chris Issak(sp) in our hotel. He had a lot of Japanese (or some similar Asian) women in and out of his suite all the time. He must like them. Or was doing a record with 99% Asian female back up singers.

O.K., some of these people have outed themselves and most of the others have had rumors about them for some time, but there’s several that I’m still dubious about. What does the fact that you’re in the hotel business have to do with it? All this means is that you’ve heard stories from other people in the hotel business. Did you ever consider the possibility that those people were guessing about the celebrities themselves? The only things that I would consider to be evidence from you would be if you had sex with them yourself, or were unambiguously hit on by them yourself, or saw them unambiguously hit on someone else.

To pick out a couple on your list that I’m dubious about, Stockard Channing has been married and divorced four times. She’s been living with the same guy for the past nine years (according to the Internet Movie Data Base). That’s certainly going above and beyond the usual standards for pretending to be heterosexual if it were true that she’s lesbian.

On another thread a month ago, you also claimed that Olivia Newton-John was lesbian and has admitted this to the Australian press, but it hasn’t been printed in the U.S. press because she isn’t considered current news here. Well, I’ve just returned from four weeks in Australia, and she’s not considered current news in Australia either. Just like in the U.S., she’s considered an '80’s star who’s dropped out of the limelight.

Quite right, Opal. Strange since Thompson seems to be the least gay of the troupe.
