What Celebrity Should Call It Quits?

Oops, forgot Shane McMahon and Test.

Absolutely.

Am I wrong, or have we gotten to the point where we’ve decided that every celebrity should call it quits? Not that I disagree, mind you

I don’t dislike Dave Grohl. In fact, when I saw him on the Dennis Miller Live show on HBO a while back, he was quite funny. I’d drink beers with him anyday.

However, his music is awful. The Foo Fighters currently rank as my second most hated band (U2 will have that title forever) and I wish that he would stop with that noise he calls music.

If the arguement is about celebs that peaked and should quit, then there are a lot of names in this thread that qualify.

Oh, and Colin Quinn is funny. That is all.

I agree about Courtney Love. I’ve always been a fan of her music, but her antics are ridiculous, patricularly when you consider that she’s 39 years old and has an 11 year old daughter (that she lost custody of because of her behavior.) Isn’t it time she grew up already? When you get to a point where you’re more famous for your scandals than you are for your actual talents, it’s time to give it up.

On that note I’d also like to agree that Michael Jackson should have been gone years ago. In fact, I think he’s an alien. Yup, back when he did that Pepsi commercial where he caught on fire, the real Michael was abducted and replaced with an alien. Alien Michael is coming closer and closer to revealing his true form. In just a few more years, we will learn the Truth.

Dave Grohl’s my favorite musician. I hope he doesn’t call it quit for many, many more years.

I second Colin Quinn-- the “Black Hole of Comedy”.

C’mon, Bill Cosby a “genius”. His show was no diferent from everything out there at the same time i.e. Growing Pains, Family Ties, Full House. And if he wanted to do a “real” show about american family life he should have taken a clue from Roseanne; messy house, mom works at a diner, dad is a mechanic. Even Al Bundy was a shoe salesman.
But Cosby had an ego and cast himself as a doctor with the lawyer wife. Something all familys can relate to?

I don’t think Bill Cosby is funny at all, and I saw him live in concert last year. And I’ve never been able to sit through a single episode of his show, not when I was a kid in the '80s, and certainly not now. IMO, he might be THE most overrated person in the entertainment industry.

You must not have children then. cause he sure can make a parent laugh at the stupid stuff they do!

I love when he gets up and feeds them chocolate cake for breakfast!
or
When his wife tells everyone in the delivery room that Bill’s parents wern’t married!
or
When the statement is made “the beatings will now begin”

But I will agree that Bill has reached his peak and it might be time to retire.

Nope, no kids, not now and hopefully never. And you’re right, I’m not really Cosby’s target audience. But they booked him for Gator Growl, our university’s largest pep rally, where he performed for thousands of college-age kids, most of whom were drunk or worse. (I wasn’t, but it might have helped my enjoyment.) He just wasn’t right for the event, talking about being a parent and dealing with his kids the whole time. I’m a huge fan of Stephen Wright’s stand-up, but I understand he would’ve been booed off the stage by that raucous crowd.

I can name three people who should call it quits:

Oprah.

Sharon Stone
Liam/Noel Gallhager

Spader has the oddest roles. I mean, looking at his filmography, this guy seems to revel in all those odd sex movies. The last movie I saw him in was “Secretary” and I thought, “Eh, he should probably give it a rest.”

Gigantor
Aunt Jemima
Sir Francis Drake
That Guy With That Dog
Ken’s mom (honorable mention)

Chris Berman. One more “Back, Back, Back, Back…” or “He , could, go all, the way!” and I just might hang myself.

lol, this is like heaven for me - damn celebrities.

Justin Timberlake
Britney Spears
Madonna
Christina Aguilera
Bill Cosby
Michael Jackson
John Travolta
Kelly, Jack & Sharon Osbourne
Elton John
Jordan

And I’d like to say I’m amazed that no one has mentioned David Blaine! He should replace Dave Grohl.

I second that.

Along with:

Kate Hudson
Whoopi Goldberg
Ellen Degeneres
Dr. Phil

Jack Black (who thinks this poser is funny??)
Tom Green (same question)
John Madden (he should go back to coaching the Raiders)
Bill Callahan (would make a better golf coach)
Madonna (Jumped the shark with her Sex book)
Eminem
Fifty Cent
Anyone else who speaks instead of sings to music (I could care less if you rhyme. Sing, dammit!)
Bill O’Reilly
Sean Hannity
Anne Coulter

and did anyone yet mention

Karl Rove?

Oh, sorry. He’s not a celebrity, he’s an evil genius. My mistake.

Phil Collins.

Me. I must be the one keeping him in the limelight, sorry

As for the OP? Noone in particular…
