Lo these many years ago I played a PC game at a friend’s house. It must have been c. 1999. I only remember playing it that one day, and am not currently in contact with said friend so I can’t ask him what it was.
I remember the game involved a field full of houses. Some were yours, some were the enemy. In each house of your own you could assign a number of generic people to different roles. I remember they could be assigned to build more people and over time your population would increase, and there was some sort of wizard role my friend said not to choose because “they fly off to another level or something” and weren’t very useful.
The weirdest part, and I think the key to the identity of this game, was a strategy used to capture (kill?) the enemy: Place a bear trap in front of the door, then drop a skunk down the chimney. Presto, they all run out the door and get caught in the trap.
I beg of you, restore the equilibrium of my brain. What game was this?
Sorry for the delay in answering, Mahaloth. Yes! I believe Baldies is the one. Now I have to ask, did you recognize it, or did you manage to Google it? Because I did try to figure it out on my own and failed. Excellent work, either way. Many thanks to all.
