Inspired by the Christmas present to yourself thread, I thought I’d start one about what you asked for.
I asked Santa Bro for a Kindle and Santa Dad for a good vacuum. I should point out that our family are big Christmas gift givers. We don’t bother on birthdays (except for the children) but we go to town on Christmas.
And you have to report back tomorrow whether Santa was forthcoming or not…
So what do you think the odds of getting that are? Are we all going to be living in Johnny L.A. Land come tomorrow morning? And don’t you think world domination is going to take a huge time committment?
I asked for a unicycle, a longboard (both of which I already have but I want new/better ones :D), and a countertop oven. So far I know I got the countertop oven.
Ain’t no Santa this year; no one, in other words, from whom I have sufficient expectation of receiving a gift that I have any business asking for something in particular. My dad sent large checks to all of us this year, so that I will begin the year not-in-arrears – still massively in debt, but not “one emergency away” from getting evicted or having the power cut off. I couldn’t have asked for that.
I didn’t know I was suggesting it for Christms, but Mr. NewSpouse heard that I wanted an Eskimo Smoke Ring before we depart Alaska for parts East nest summer. He gave me the online catalog printed out, and said, “Make your choice!” I got JUST what I wanted, plus a notch up: the heavyweight ranre Nelson Island Diamond pattern. (See ooomigak.org …)
AND he surprised me with a lovely Whale’s Tail pendant made of mammoth ivory, in my stocking. I didn’t know we were doing stockigs until the last minute. His family gave me one, too, filled with little gifties from Hawaii.
And then there’s the Hawaiian Islands cruise, coming up in February … Someone must love me vey much …
