What do you want for Christmas this year? Do you think you'll get it?

Me, I’m a political junkie. I jst saw something I really want on the Daily Show, The Frost Nixon Interviews on DVD. And maybe one or two kiss and tell books by former Bush administration officials. I’ll have to do a little research on which of those I really want.

And yes, I expect I will get them. Every year, my sister and I ask each other what we would like, and then we go get it for each other. It’s a pretty good deal.

-Digital camera
-Gap perfume “Heaven”
-Steelers jersey (IF it’s available, Jerome Bettis, #36. If not, either Hines Ward #86, or Troy Polamalu #43)

(My mother always asks me what I want. Last year I got a bunch of gift cards and my mp3 player, and not too long ago, I mentioned I wanted a camera, and she suggested Xmas, so it’s not a huge deal.)

I want a Kitchenaid Mixer so, so, so, so bad. Unfortunately, I already bought a new laptop, a new iPhone, and took a vacation to California this year, so I feel like I got all my Christmas presents early. My husband is a sweet guy but he freezes at the thought of purchasing the “wrong” Christmas present, and so defaults to purchasing nothing at all (though both my sister and best friend can provide long lists of ideas if he would just listen to them). So this year, I don’t believe I’m getting anything for Christmas.

I want for my airplane flights to and from NYC to go smoothly, and especially no crashes, please Santa.

What do you want for Christmas this year? good beer

Do you think you’ll get it? highly doubtful. I need either a plane ticket out of Asia or military clearance to get access to something that’s not Corona, Guinness, or Sam Adams (lager). Not that those are terrible, mind you. It’s just pretty much all I’ve had for the past 16 months.

I want: One of those things that blows out an ass load of steam. It’s used to clean kitchen counters bathrooms etc.

A GPS.

Clothes.

You’re gonna laugh but my Mommy pick the best clothes for me. She really has an eye for what would look good on me. Seriously.
I’ll probably get the clothes.

New floors in my house. It might not happen by Christmas, but looks like I’ll get it. I’ve been waiting for four years.

For myself, maybe an iPod. As long as I get the floors, I’ll be happy.

I already got mine. It’s actually a mutual gift from supervenusfreak and me to each other. It’s soft and warm and fuzzy, and, unfortunately, also poopy and stubborn and kind of smelly.

Daisy

Sounds like she’ll fit right in !!

You have no idea how right you are…

That’s cold. Hilarious, but cold. Also, Daisy is just too cute.

There’s not much I want, really, except maybe for my mom’s family to revamp the whole gift-giving situation. Every household giving something to each other individual was fine 20 years ago, but now that we’re adults there are more households, and spouses and new kids–it’s gotten to the point where we can’t fit all the people and all the stuff in one room at one time. It’s ridiculous. I’d love for us to either set a strict spending/space limit, or to draw names.

Though come to think of it, I would like to have a really compact garment steamer to take with me to craft shows. And one of those ridiculously expensive Rowenta combination iron/steamer things for the craft room. Also, a million dollars and a pony.

One of my relatives will probably come up with a steamer, although I did ask for almost five years for a cordless drill and only got one when we got married because someone wanted to get something for DoctorJ. I never have gotten that pocket knife I keep asking for, though. Dunno about the iron thingy, but I’m not specially whipped up over it anyhow.

Oh, and I’d really love for my dad to finish the inlaid box he’s making me to my kitty’s cremains in. Knowing Daddy, I think I’ve got a better chance at the million dollars and the pony.

A new video card and more RAM. Odds are I’ll get them then if Owls doesn’t spring for them beforehand–the new WoW expansion is hitting my rig hard (especially shadows :(). We’ve been waiting for the price of RAM to come down again before getting more, but I’m going to need it soon. Well, I need it anyway. I’ve had this machine three years now and wanted to start upgrading a year and a half ago–unfortunately his machine has been commanding attention so mine’s had to wait.

Ha! No, but I do!

I want a set of Knit Picks Harmony Interchangeable Circular knitting needles and a GPS. I’ll probably get one or the other. Dave’s pretty good at remembering hints I make throughout the year.

:stuck_out_tongue:

There’s nothing I have a burning desire for this year. My family doesn’t do a big gift giving bonanza anyway, but this year nothing stands out. I always have an Amazon Wishlist going full of books I’d like, but most of the time that wishlist is mostly my own personal shopping list - if I don’t get them for my birthday or Christmas, I’ll eventually end up buying them anyway!

Hmm, now that I think about it, we’ve been talking about renewing our cell phone plan, and maybe instead of just going for the freebie phone, I can get something a little nicer and call it Christmas.

What do you want for Christmas this year? nothing

Do you think you’ll get it? No. They won’t listen to me or they won’t believe me, so they get me stuff for my birthday and for Christmas. I wish they’d stop.

It’s not like it makes me angry or anything, it’s just a waste of their money. I like the getting together and talking and laughing and eating, and I’m not really interested in any more than that. Let me assure you, though, that I do have manners. When I open any gifts, I will be absolutely thrilled. And any decorative knickknack will be retrieved from storage and placed on a tabletop or whatever, should the giver subsequently visit my abode.

I want nothing material, and if I’m able to get my kids to feel like they’re not getting less this year that would be great. I really want household peace, and my soon to be former MIL to step the eff back. I probably won’t get the latter but I might be able to manage the former.

I kind of already got my Christmas gifts this year. One, a new (and more tricked-out) Foodsaver, since my previous one was starting to go, and two, a fancy-pants Whirlpool water cooler that dispenses hot and cold water from our big 5 gal water jugs.I LOVE kitchen gadgets/electronics, and I’m kind of “instant-gratification” about these things, so manthous got them for me early. I’ll get a few stocking-stuffer-y type things too, so there’s still a little bit of surprise left before the big day! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m hoping for a good pair of boots. My beloved pair of 6 years bit the dust last spring after sloshing through an industrial solvent that reduced the rubber soles to some sort of sticky goo. The replacements were a pair of wal mart specials due to budget constraints, and I’m currently in negotiations with the devil to set aside a special little corner of hell for the person who designed them and declared them fit for human use.

I’d like a heated mattress pad. I’ll get it if I tell my parents; they’re always open to suggestions!
Other than that, world peace and harsher punishment for parole violators.
