And how disappointed will you be if you do not get it?
I started this thread asking about gifts you got for others. Got me thinking about what I would like others to give me…
Like I said, my wife and I bought each other a puppy, and I really don’t want her to buy me anything else. The only things I want are more expensive and specific to my hobbies, and I will work them into our future budget as it allows. I’d far rather save $ for the kids’ college, than receive something I do not really want/need.
Nor do I want my 3 kids to spend much on me. But I did make 3 suggestions, none of which should cost $10 - a bookmark or 2, a refill for my good pen, and some long golf tees. I would really like and use all 3, and will be a tad disappointed if they get me something more expensive, or something I do not want as much.
I actually don’t have any gift expectations whatsoever this year. My Mom already gave me money which will go toward a new sofa. This is my first Christmas with **LabRat **and I have no idea what he has gotten for me and I didn’t ask for anything. The rest of the family is not doing presents, only stockings (which are more fun anyway!). I’m not going to be disappointed with anything I get because I’m truly not expecting anything.
I’m pretty sure my mom is getting me the two things I really want: a pair of slipper boots and the “Zombie Survival Guide.” It would also be fun to get a new Wii game.
Truly, I’d just like everyone I got presents for to like what I got them.
I don’t worry about what I’m getting. Frankly, I tell people not to get me anything, but they always insist on getting something. If I could really have my druthers, I would like to have enough money to pay my bills and cover Christmas without it being a real struggle. That won’t happen though.
Mom and I went to New York and Company when they had a huge sale and I am getting some new clothes, hopefully to wear to the new job…when I find one.
I dropped mad hints to the bf this year because there were actually a few things I wanted. The season 3 Entourage DVDs when they were reaaaaally cheap, a zip up cover for my laptop, and a cheapy refurb Sansa mp3 player. He’s been teasing me though so I will have to report back after we get to exchange gifts Friday because I have no idea what he really got me.
Otherwise I have gotten no gifts yet. Sure mom will throw in a couple surprises because she can’t stand when we know what all our gifts are. I predict new gloves. Tonight I will probably be getting Gap giftcard and some money from other relatives.
A Blu-Ray player. Which I’ve already opened, actually ^^’ (I got it early partly because part of my husband’s gift–new RAM–didn’t work out, and partly because i’d already guessed what it was).
Other than that, Smarties. The chocolate ones. I think Mom sent some, but I won’t know until tomorrow.
I’ve already opened my main gift from my husband. He was nice enough to let me, so I can wear it to our round of parties we have to attend - a diamond and amethyst necklace.
Yes, yes…I am a girl who likes sparkly jewelry, but I don’t hold my husband hostage over it or hand out exorbitant “favors” after receiving said jewelry. He gets pretty much any “favor” he wants on a regular basis because I like stuff like that, too.
I’m getting a membership to the gym, WWF donations, Heifer Int’l donations, assorted donations from Kid Kalhoun & Co., and some surprise “stuff.” We’re very pleased.
Isn’t it supposed to be, like, 75 degrees on Friday?!
Woohoo! Congrats !!
What do I want? I want to fly to NYC and back without the airplane falling from the sky. Oh, and also the airplanes carrying various family members. That’s all.
