What did you eat yesterday?

I will start by listing the meals I took yesterday.
This is everything I ate.
I follow the traditional Romanian meals and times.

1 apple
1 slice of bread with homemade roe spread
1 bowl of vegetable salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, green peppers, onion)

SNACK - 10:30 a.m.

100g (3.5oz) nuts and seeds

DINNER - 1:30-2 p.m. (I don’t remember exactly)
rice and chicken (1 small to medium portion)

RANDOM SNACK - about 3 p.m.
20g (0.7oz) dark chocolate

SUPPER - 7 p.m.
1 slice of watermelon
50g (1.75oz) seeds and nuts

What about you?

Cats breakfast 6am: Fed cats and drank a protein shake.

Grandsons 1st breakfast 7:30; fed boys and I had Cheerios/skim milk and orange juice.

2nd breakfast: Cooked lots of bacon and eggs. Toast.
I ate one piece of toast, one piece of bacon and a banana.

Lunch: mid-Daughter made Mac and cheese. I ate that and a roll.

Afternoon snack: orange juice and goldfish crackers and a protein bar.

Dinner: an Italian tasting casserole, salad and rolls. I ate that.

Evening snack: protein bar and tea.

I had raisins just a while ago.

You folks like snacking!

I had

7am Breakfast: an espresso.
1pm Lunch: Chicken with salad and cauliflower couscous.
7.30pm Dinner: Fish and fennel in tahini sauce (looks a bit like a middle-eastern twist on a fish pie) with steamed broccoli and sugar snap peas. Accompanied by a nice Super Tuscan.

I’m on a low carb kick during the week. No snacks either.

The 10:30-11 snack is part of the traditional Romanian meals.
All Romanian students (grade 0 to grade 8) receive a free snack at that time.
The same goes with people serving in the army and all kinds of boarding situations.

breakfast: black coffee
lunch: a can of Progresso Chicken and Dumplings soup and a peach yogurt
dinner: A chicken breast and some rice with a quick chicken stock pan sauce
evening snack: a handful of pistachios and a glass of red wine

In the UK, we call that ‘elevenses’. Traditionally people would stop at 11 (at home or work) for a sit down, a cup of tea and a snack. The tradition has fallen out of fashion, but we still get a break around that time at school for a snack.

I’ve just learnt to cut out snacking in a drive to keep weight down/not have to go on a crash diet.

Here, the tradition seems to be reinforced by official practices.

Cutting out snacking is one strategy.
Another strategy is to have 5 meals (or so) consisting of small portions or low calorie intake. :+1:

Breakfast: 2 turkey sausage patties and 2 medium eggs, fried over easy

Lunch: nothing

Dinner: ribeye steak, red beans and rice, asparagus

I have been practicing IF for many years now. Yesterday was no different (except for the food). It consisted of:

Morning (6am or so):
Coffee.

Dinner (6pm or so):
A few ounces of Guac and tortilla chips
Tuna melt on sourdough
Tomatoes and cucumbers
Some bbq potato chips
Fruit.
Vitamins.

About 1600-1800 calories on most days according to Cronometer.

Around 9am: two fairly thin slices of zucchini/cheddar/chive bread
2ish: a fabulous chicken empanada with light sour cream
7ish: a small brownie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream
I know at some point I had a KIND dark chocolate / peanut butter protein bar and at another point I ate a single size cottage cheese with chives.

Since I have a medical issue causing little room in my stomach (still have my native kidneys squeezing everything out), I find I nosh a lot simply because I can’t eat a lot. I cannot eat an entire hamburger or sandwich, as I then get the post-Thanksgiving overeating nausea.

Breakfast:
Blueberry English muffin w/butter
Banana
Ice water
3 mini Reese’s peanut butter cups

Lunch:
Giant bowl of cut up watermelon & cantaloupe
Handful of sweet dark cherries
Off the Beaten Path veggie crisps ( “healthy” chips made of rice, black beans, chickpeas and purple sweet potatoes) - I have no idea how many I scarfed down
Can diet Coke
1 miniature bag of M&Ms

Dinner:
2 thin slices of meatloaf
Large scoop of roasted veggies (potatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes, zuke and yellow squash)
Ice water

Snack:
1/3 pint of chocolate Halo ice cream

7:30am: Cup of coffee with almond milk creamer, small (1oz) slice of carrot cake

1:15pm: Small piece of lasagna, small piece of garlic bread, bottle of water

5pm: Steak burrito.

11pm: Two hard boiled eggs

In between, during the work day, was two pieces of hard candy between breakfast & lunch and lunch & going home

8 am - noon - Coffee

Noon - leftover cheeseburger and potato salad

6 PM - 11 PM - Bud Light

11 PM - 2 leftover cheeseburgers

Breakfast 5:30, maybe 6:00 - Jalapeno-ham grits with an over easy egg

Lunch about 12:15 - One small mango(the little yellow kind), one nectarine, one kiwi

Supper around 6:30 - Four stuffed pepper halves(rice, ground beef, etc.) The bell peppers in our garden have been small lately, hence the four pieces. Also a small tossed salad.

Dessert around 8:00 - A piece of leftover birthday cake.

10ish: Spicy hash brown taco
Noonish: Leftover fried rice w/broccoli
Dinner: Tator Tot Mexicano (Tater Tots with taco toppings, including sauteed peppers from the garden. It’s my own invention).
9ish: Small bowl of nuts
11ish: Half a bagel topped with diced tomatoes, fresh from the garden

Whoa, back up there. What’s a blueberry english muffin? A muffin with blueberries on top?

Breakfast: Coffee, handful of FiberOne cereal (like every day)

Lunch: Hard boiled egg, greek yogurt with applesauce (like every day)

Snack: Couple handfuls of salted peanuts (like every day)

Dinner: Leftover chili and a grilled cheese.

Et cetera: Wee bowl of ice cream and three (?) glasses of wine (like every day)

I get into food ruts. :woman_shrugging:

What’s with all these leftover cheeseburgers, man? Do you do your grocery shopping in the drive-thru?

Breakfast, 9ish: a smoothie of a banana, a few frozen strawberries , and a splash of juice.
Lunch 1ish: 2 pieces of prosciutto and some cheese
Dinner 8 ish: half of a homemade pizza, pepperoni, feta, and fresh tomato
Late snack 10 ish: Klondike bar

Oh, and from about 2PM on several vodka soda lemonades.

Besides plain English muffins you can also get cinnamon/raisin, blueberry, cranberry/orange (seasonal), maple French toast - probably others.

I’m not sure if you know what an English muffin is. An English muffin is what they make Egg McMuffins with. The flavored ones have the blueberries, raisins, etc. baked into them.
