What did you get yourself for (not) Christmas

A new car stereo with iPod integration (and, uh, well, a new iPod. 8GB Nano).

I had the stereo installed today, and it is freakin’ AWESOME! I had no idea what a piece of crap my factory radio was.

I couldn’t stand it. When I went to the website where the necklace was so I could post the link, I gave in and bought it.

I knew I would. I wanted it. I needed it.

I have no willpower when it comes to jewelry. On the site they asked if I wanted to include a note with the package.

I did. It says: “Merry Christmas To Me!”

Merr Xmas Creaky, you’ve had one heck of a year. I’m glad you bought yourself this neat thingie, it’s what you really wanted.

love and pancakes,
k’boydal

Any AC paraphernalia that I can afford! Obviously lowest prices first to indicate how my budget runs.

An example of a recent purchase:

My own version of this… whew babee!!

I saw ole Vincent at the Fox Theatre in ATL in the early 90’s. It was a revelatory experience. I waas oooooooooohhhhhhhhh so close to putting out a puppet show for Welcome to My Nightmare 5 years ago ( just prefer Billion Dollar Babies, really)

Good job, it’s been a heckuva a year for you. I’m glad you got what you wanted.

Thank you, my dear! One heck of a year indeed. I’m looking forward to calmer times, at least on the job, in 2008.

Hope you have a fantastic holiday yourself and all the best in the new year!

Thanks, I was once in Greenbelt MD and thought it was the nadir of despair. So close to the Nat’l Arboretum yet I could not get a ride, damn the snow!

2008 will look good on you.

I always wondered what dermatologists did with the ‘benigns’.

LASIK. January 9th.

40 years of glasses and contact lenses is enough. I’m 47yo. I will still probably need reading glasses, but that’s fine.

I’ve done well with contacts and glasses in the past, but now needing reading glasses and sunglasses for contacts, and clip on sunglasses for glasses too. Enough is enough. Can’t read at night in bed with my regular glasses, but can with contacts and reading glasses… So now I fall asleep in my contacts.

There is now just too many pieces and parts that I need to take care of. It’s becoming a real pain.

To be able to see in the morning when I get up will be something. To not worry about always having extra contacts (and everything that comes with them) and a pair of regular glasses (with clip on shades) and reading glasses and sun glasses for contact wearing near me will be something.

This should cut it back to just needing reading glasses and sun glasses.

[ZZTop] Go and getcha self some cheap sunglasses [/ZZTop]

Only three Xmas gifts to myself:

–Hickory Farms deluxe sampler, which will be shared with the other beefstick-starved masses here in Kabul

–Electronic bagpipes

– Upgrade on tickets home in January

I finally broke down and got myself this lovely, much-too-expensive coffee maker. Since then I’ve spent my pre-Xmas days hopped up on caffeine, latte-ing myself into oblivion. Worth every penny, tho!

Been pretty busy here at work. Company split into two divisions this year, and revenue has nearly doubled over last year.

That’s a nice looking Colt ya got there, Bob the O. I picked up a stainless Walther PPK/S .380 earlier this year. Kind of an unpleasant little thing to shoot.

A shiny new Le Creuset 7 qt dutch oven. Sure, it cost $250 after tax, but it’s got the most ridiculously even heat distribution you’ll find in any cookware on earth.

I think I’m in love.

Congratulations! Got mine done in '99 and only just now am starting to have a little trouble with distances. That first morning you wake up and are able to read the clock, without fumbling for glasses, is wonderful.

Samsung 50 inch Plasma screen HDTV…and Guitar Hero III for the Wii.

The kids’ Christmas pictures turned out so well I decided to buy some prints for myself. It’ll probably be after Christmas before I can afford it, though. Till then, I’m displaying their icky little school pictures on my desk at work.
