Er, a 500 Gb external hard drive, a Black Friday indulgence.
I pulled a used transmission for my Fiat from the junkyard. Cleaned it up, inspected it and it looks like a good one. Shoved it in the car today. I’ll finish bolting it up tomorrow and test-drive it.
That, and if it works, I’ll buy some new tires.

This is the first year in a long time that I haven’t got one. The kids are being crunched in the economy squeeze and we both have enough stuff to last us the rest of our lives. So we’ve decided to skip gifts to each other and for ourselves this year and use the money to help the kids out.
Four nights in a secluded, yet modern cabin with the Druidess, including New Year’s Eve. There’s a hot tub. And satellite TV. And the Druidess. 
I’m thinking… a PVR. Maybe. We’ll see if I’ve been good enough.
Getting rid of my DVR for Tivo, this Yankees toaster because it makes me laugh, and a Kate Spade bag I found for 60% off. Woot
A trip home to see my family in Montreal.
I was going to take a one-day zamboni class but then I found out the one I can afford is much too far away to be feasible. Blah.
Antigen - Zamboni? Like the ice-smoothing machine?
gatopescado - If you can put in a transmission in one day, why does it take my shop, with a whole drew of guys, a week?

I gave myself three… and no, I really don’t feel that I deserve any more presents. I spoil myself so adequately already.
Anyway, they were gifts that it would have been difficult or impossible for anyone else to buy for me…
- A pile of beautiful yarn, exactly what I want to be knitting right now
- A set of formal china, used from eBay for $66 shipped (w00t!)
- A few pretty fluttery not-maternity tops to wear after I have the baby this spring
I’m treating myself to a Brazilian blowout. At 200.00, it’s a definite treat. I am excited about a few months without having to flat iron my unruly frizzy/curly hair.
I got myself a new iPod (160GB Classic, in silver).
OMG that’s awesome! I hardly ever have bread in the house and haven’t owned a toaster in years, but I might just have to get that. 
The best part, though, is “Customers buy this item with Boston Red Sox Protoast.” Heh.
