What do I do with this rum?

When I was in the shot glass exchange I got some neat stuff, besides the glasses, from my sender silenus.

One item was a 50ml bottle of rum. It’s clear, and the name of the brand is Tommy Bahama, a name I’m not familiar with.

So what’s the tastiest thing I can do with this rum? Are there any favorite mixed drinks you can recommend?

Rum and Ginger Ale (Canada Dry is fine, but Reed’s is excellent) over ice is one of the best cocktails in the world.

Maybe a squeeze of lime, depending on your tastes…

Mix it with Red Bull and Coke.

Mai Tais.

Jebus, that guy is into everything. I have two Tommy Bahama beach chairs.

Away with it, by gum! That’s the song of the Temperance Union!

The recipe for mai-tais calls for dark rum. This is clear rum, will it still be good for it?

Um, bake. And then mail it to me.

I’d make a “real” (rum, lime juice, sugar syrup) Daiquiri.

Oh my, a couple of those daquiri recipes sound good. I may have to try the one with the strawberries.

Okay, I gotta go with that. TNAI Mrs. Plant made a pitcher of limeade, and we drank it with rum and crushed mint. Outstanding.

Are you sure you weren’t thinking of Rye and Ginger Ale?

Rum goes with Coke and a Lime Squeeze (Cuba Libre)

OMG, that sounds good too, I think I’m going to have to go out and buy some more rum, as I have just the one little bottle!:stuck_out_tongue:

Right now I am sipping a daiquiri made with rum, lime juice simple syrup and mulberry juice! A mulberry daiquiri. I concocted it after reading some of the daiquiri recipes at the link up thread.

Two parts rum, two parts juice, one part freshly squeezed lime juice, one part simple syrup. I stirred it up and poured it over crushed ice. It looks gorgeous, a deep purple drink. The mulberries had been in my freezer, I picked them fresh myself and mashed them in a sieve to get the juice and strain out the seeds. I also cooked up the simple syrup myself, this morning, so it had time to cool.

Now I intend to sit back, read, and sip. I haven’t had rum in a while, so I’m typing this now while I’m sure I can!
