What do I have to do if I want to change my "User Name?"

I’m assuming that bribery of some kind is a given.

Unfortunately, I’m a bit short of funds right now but how about some kittens instead? They’re awfully cute.:smiley:

Seriously, I’d like to change my User Name and would like to know the procedure for doing so.

Email the administrators with your request. Send it to more than one, as sometimes one will get busy and not check mail for a bit.

After I get out of the Pit fight I’m currently in, I may want to do the same thing. Thanks.

Lynn and Ed are the only admins, right?

Since Lynn is out of commission at the moment, the process should be to e-mail Ed and wait patiently, it seems.

An email to Lynn will not be effective very quickly, as she is hospitalized at the moment. An email to Ed will be buried, because he has way too many things to do. Best bet for something like a name change is to email Arnold, TubaDiva, Gaudere, and/or me.

Since we, too, have days or weeks of vacation (or time away from the boards), it is best (as noted above) if you email a couple of us.

Be sure that the requesting email comes from the same email under which you are registered.

Is this last bit strictly necessary? I’ve emailed you guys under different emails lotsa times without really being smacked down for it. I figure if my username is in the subject field, you’ll still read it… or ignore it, come to think of it. Hmm.

That’s generally fine for emails not asking for a change of username.

However, if someone emails an admin asking for a change of username, they’ve gotta verify that the request is genuine. This would also hold true for other requests that require verification.
