What do I have to do to get this to work?

I’m running Mozilla 1.6 on a WIN98 platform and trying to view an animation at the following URL: http://www.chubbysims.com/csMovie (it’s supposed to be a Laurel and Hardy animation).

Problem. Every time I go to that page, I don’t get the animation, but a blank rectangle with the puzzle-piece icon in the middle with the “click here to get the plugin” message. I’ve “clicked here” and downloaded (and installed) the plugin and it still doesn’t show the animation, but the “click here to get the plugin” message.

Does someone recognize this condition and can tell me what setting to change (or whatever) so I can see the friggin’ animation?

If I’ve left out some important information that you need to give me a sensible answer please prompt me and I will do my best to provide the information.

P.S.: If anyone can actually see the animation, am I missing much? :stuck_out_tongue:

Mozilla 1.6? A patch is now available, which will give you greater access to content on the web.

Since the movie in question is a .WMV, I am not sure if there are Mozilla plugins for that. What version of Windows Media Player do you have?

I have Windows Media Player 9.0.

Click the puzzle piece! It doesn’t look like a link when you roll over it, but click it.

You need to get Flash or Java, and the puzzle piece will start the process to get you it.

Your browser is not enabled with one of these to see the animation.

Click the puzle piece.

Clarifying. The movie runs in media player, but it might need Java to get it rolling the way it is imbedded in the page.
So…click the puzzle piece.

Damn…I read your post twice and didn’t notice that you ‘clicked’ and downloaded it. I just helped someone else with a similar problem and they never clicked the puzzle piece to get the download. My apologies.

Mozilla and Win 98 have a few issues together. You might be experiencing one, where a movie tries to play in the browser, which is a very Microsfot IE/Media Player kinda thing - for lack of better words.

Try opening this link to see if the movie runs. A direct link to the animated movie:

I was finally able to download the file and run it from the desktop with WMP. Does this mean there’s no hope of integrating WMP with Mozilla?
