How about a hagfish of trolls?
A Boil Of Trolls(They need lancing)
A Pox Of Trolls(They do act diseased)
A Vexing Of Trolls(They piss off everyone)
A Void Of Trolls(They seem pretty vacuous)
So far, from the suggestions I’ve seen, I like:
Tumor of Trolls
“Gleet”-
Slimy or mucous matter discharged from a bodily orifice.
A Gleet of Trolls!
As in “Gleetings from your President.”?
No, they are not. A group of Larks is a FLOCK, a group of rhinos a HERD. Those other names were made up as a part of a English parlour game. A herd of rhinos is no more a 'crash" than the rent on Park Place is $400 (the real on, I mean). There are some odd old english group words, like gaggle, but in all cases they are words that only are group nouns, like “pod” “bevy” etc. If the word is not a group noun, like “crash”, it is part of that silly game.
So far I like:
a felch of trolls
a bolus of trolls
a twat of trolls (just sounds sooo cool! :))
My 2 c worth: a crapping of trolls… a queef of trolls… Oh, so many possibilites…
Probably spelled qweef, though I’m sure this has been debated at great length somewhere else…
CONGRESS!
Try a bridge-beneath of trolls. Or a goat-squish of trolls. That’s the best I can do.
When I first read “bowl of trolls” I thought it said “bowel”. How about it - a bowel of trolls.
Ahem. A pride of lions.
Anyway, since I’m the final arbiter (because I said so, that’s why…and this is my thread), I hereby declare the winner to be MerrySquirrels who submitted the name of:
A FELCH of trolls.
Pronunciation: 'felch
Function: noun
Etymology: of unknown origin
Date: 2000
1 : a group of slow-witted people, a repulsive company
2 : you don’t want to know
This name captures the true essence of trolldom. There is nothing nice about felching; it shouldn’t exist. Same with trolls.
Congratulations to MerrySquirrels, and many thanks to all those who contributed.
Oh fine, Rysdad, give all the credit to MerrySquirrels. Boo boo hoo! I’ll just hide in the corner.
A THOUSAND PARDONS, PLEASE!!!
Indeed, Mr. C originated the word. MerrySquirrels merely echoed it.
Being the final arbiter (never claimed to be a good one), I hereby redirect all applause and kudos to:
Mr. Cynical
May his name always be praised.
Fame was sweet while it lasted…
Felch is definitely a good one, Mr. Cynical! <clap clap>
