The comments to that story make me want to punch people in the face.
Wait, that always happens when I look at the comments to stories online. I sense a recurring theme.

Well,
I gotta give em credit for using a pepper jack cheese that you can even notice has PEPPERS :smack: in it.
It’s the “jack” component that has me worried.
I was a little bit surprised myself. (I expected a calorie count more in the 600 or 700s). But do note that article is from fall of last year, before the nutritional analysis had been done, and contains the Vancouver Sun’s best guess at what the calorie count should be. I haven’t the faintest clue with how they came up with 1220. (61% of a 2000-calorie diet). A KFC original recipe filet is 170 calories. Multiply that by two, 340. Add the bacon, cheese, dab of mayo, and there’s your 540.
This ain’t health food by any stretch, but it’s not as bad as it seems on first glance.
Nobody seems to complain too much about nutrition when they order two pieces of chicken, a side of mashed potatoes & gravy, cole slaw, and a biscuit. The DD may be the healthier alternative.
I ate two Double Downs last night, with a quadruple bypass on the side.
If you’re going to eat one (and you know you want to), I would recommend the original recipe one; the grilled one I had was way too salty and was an unappetizing shade of brown.
