My beloved CRX got in an argument with a mileage marker and is now missing two pieces of trim. I’ve looked for replacements on ebay for a few months with no luck and now I’m ready to call some local junk yards. Trouble is, I don’t know what to ask for. The two missing pieces are the narrow side trim on the passenger side in front of and behind the door. In other words, the trim between the wheels and the door. Could someone tell me the exact name of these pieces so I won’t be reduced to asking for “those fender thingies?”
Belt molding comes to mind. Beltline is the middle of the car, like your beltline. Trim on it would be fender beltline, door beltline, and quarter beltline. If you’re still stuck, go to a body shop and ask them what it’s called. Good luck.
Former wrecking yard operator here. Ask for side mouldings or rubstrips and they will know what you want, maybe. It would probably be easier to ask if they have a car the same year and model as yours and that you are looking for the passenger side trim pieces. Most wrecking yard workers have an idea of what cars are in the yard, they may not know what parts are left on the car.
