Have you tried them separately?
For me, it’s the banjo. Just…can’t…make…it…sound…right.

I have this one on my office wall. It just speaks to me somehow . . .
Me too on the singing. But considering that even BFs (who are usually biased on these things) have cringed in pain when I uttered a single note, I’ve given up on my dreams of becoming a karaoke diva.
I do a mean spoken-word version of Polyester Bride, though.
Fighting games. They’re one of my favorite kinds of videogames and I play them a ton. I feel like I should be some kind of unbeatable fighting game guru by now, but I never seem to get better no matter how often I play. I get beaten as often as I win, even against total novices.
Snowboarding. I’ve been skiing since I was seven or eight and I’m an excellent skiier, but I suck at snowboarding just because I’ve never really learned. Everytime I’ve tried I eventually gave up and put my skis on. Snowboarding just looks so much cooler, though.
Ditto on golf. My score is usually around 105 to 115, but there’s nothing else I would rather do in the summer, or spring or fall for that matter.

It’s not so bad if you think of it as “creative landscaping while drinking.” A buddy and I used to go; we’d never keep score. Our favorite club: the “foot wedge,” because it counts as zero strokes. Unlimited mulligans.
Watching scary movies.
I love watching scary movies, but cannot actually sit through the scary parts without covering my eyes. As soon as the creepy violins start, I’m hiding and asking “Is it done? Is he dead? What happened?”
Playing pool. I suck at it.
In fact, I remember a co-worker (equally as bad at the time) and I milking a $ .50 game for like an hour because we were so bad !
I saw the thread title, and bowling immediately came to mind. I suck at bowling. (How I dream of bowling a 171!) I still have a blast doing it, though.
Posting witty, entertaining, thought-provoking, and stimulating responses to SDMB threads. I don’t consider myself to be a driveby poster. Yet, I wish I could carry on indepth some of the topics found in the forums here.
Then again, I don’t need to be here as it appears with some. I just want to be here.
Pool for sure. Also playing the drums.
Playing the guitar. I’ve always wanted to learn, and so I just bought myself one. I need lessons–the guy said that if I follow the book and the CD-rom, I should be fine.
I can’t figure either one out. seriously.
I can stay up on ice skates, but that’s about it–but I still enjoy doing it. Ditto knitting—I can do one stitch and even that’s a stretch.
I also can’t really sing (I have a 5 note range) or dance. I can be creative and artistic to some extent, but not what I’d like to be.
I’ve me-too’d my way through this thread.
Singing, dancing, bowling, cross-country skiing, being creative in general… I’m hopelessly average to below average to downright awful. But they’re all fun.
I also enjoy bowling, though my scores are in the Obama range.
I enjoy web development, which I’m just now learning to do and am not yet any good at.
And, loath as I am to admit it, six months in I still suck at my new job. I like it an my bosses are patient with me, so I figure I’ll get the hang of it one of these days.
Thirding shooting pool.
Also, running. I suck so bad at running, I broke my ankle jogging last October. I am dying to get back to it, but every time I see my doc he tells me “another 6 weeks.”
Posting on the SDMB!
Singing, I guess. Apart from that I avoid doing things I’m not good at.
Playing guitar. Been at it a long time, still not very good. Got some real nice guitars though.
Playing chess. I love the game, I’m just not all that good at it.
I love to sing along to whatever I’m listening to, but unfortunately, dogs three blocks over start howling when they hear me.
Yeah, I suck. But it’s fun.
