Playing baseball. I love the game and I love playing baseball and softball. I was never any good at it. I always joke my best position on the field was 3rd base coach.
I have always been a slow runner, even long before I gained weight. I have never had good throwing arm or any power to hit the ball far.
Guitar for me, too. 20 years and lessons with a professional guitarist - sometimes I can get through a whole ‘beginner’ piece without any mistakes and I get so excited I can’t play at all!
My kid is going through this with skateboarding and rollerblading - we have have *have * to spend at least three hours a weekend at the skate park, on top of all the practise on the driveway during the week.
If all four of her limbs are heading in the same direction, it’s by accident.
I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. In fact, though I was sort of marginally aware that such a thing as notes existed, I only recently learned how to identify them and what they sound like. I suppose this means that I probably can sing, I just haven’t the foggiest clue how. Doesn’t stop me from singing along at the top of my lungs when no one else is around!
What a good guy. Mine generally chips in with something very helpful like… “what did we say about singing in the car, dear?”
Drawing. I love to draw and doodle but I’ll never win any art contests. Also pretty much any sport besides ultimate frisbee (if you can call that a sport). Love to play things outdoors, but never play competitively because I’ll just get yelled at.
Also, Guitar Hero. Love to play the game but can’t do better than Medium level. And if I ever tried the real guitar I’d probably stink just as bad.
