What do you do for a living?

Former computer network tech (back in the OS/2 token ring days), theater techie, contractor, and videographer, currently designing physics demonstrations at a large public university whilst studying geology.

I also fancy myself as something of an artist, but I have been remarkably non-productive lately.

Lawyer. More specifically, Law Clerk to a U.S. District Judge. My term is up soon, though, and I’ll be going over to private practice.

I am an Admin Assistant. Which means I am a jack of all trades and receive credit for nothing.

Aircraft parts co-ordinator.

Y’know, like Fred Sanford was a co-ordinator…

Graphic-designer-creative-type.

Answer 999 emergency calls for our Ambulance service and out of hour doctors

Senior Administrative Assistant.

Feared, revered, respected, and given a halfway decent lunch “on the company” once a year. It’s glamorous, I know.

Absolutely nothing.

My official title is “co-ordinator,” but that’s just because it’s too long to say personal assistant to the president, accounting assistant (emphasis on accounts payable), and purchasing assistant #2. Some days, I want to have three brightly colored ball caps so I can switch off when I’m busy. Other days, I do this.

I also open mail, send mail, send faxes, copy 3" binders full of drawings (and color on them), take deposits to the bank, make coffee … you know.

I usually describe myself as “general office bitch” to anyone who will appreciate that humor. It’s not a glorious job, put it pays better than anything I’ve done so far (I’m only 23); I work M-F 9-5; plus, I get vacation, sick days, personal days, and paid holidays; AND free benefits (medical, dental, vision, and life insurance).
But I work with my mother-in-law.

I like working with her … most days, that is.

Man, this is depressing!
Part-time sales assistant

Assistant Manager at a " Quick Service Restaurant".
The one with the clown for a spokesman.
I’ve been in the restaurant trade for twenty years, and that’s why I’m currently a part time student.
With any luck I’ll soon be a full time student.

I’ll weigh in as another Prof. I instruct the youth who get into my school about the goings on with-in our brain.
Psych 101,202
Psych stats 101,202
Abnormal psych 101
and Interviewing and counseling 302.

My schooling is PhD. Environmental Psychology. M.S same. B.S same. AA Human Services.

I am an underpaid, underappreciated waitress at a Chowder House during the summer (i.e. right now).

During the school year, I’m a grad student.

Environmental engineer, specializing in site assessment and remediation, usually under state UST or voluntary remediation programs. Currently seeking new technical management gig.

Programmer. I run 90% of the company’s intranet applications (time sheets, travel request, HR, Benefits, etc.)

Motor T baby. Now I drive the Colonel around.

psychotherapist (job)

social worker (career)

I wear several different hats.

Mostly I’ve worked as an ornithologist and tropical biologist. Most recently I’ve been doing bird surveys as part of a big biodiversity inventory project in Gabon, Central Africa. Previously I’ve done bird surveys in Panama and Peru. And I do a lot of unpaid work promoting bird conservation here in Panama.

My newest job is that I’ve just signed on to be the chief curator for exhibitions for a new museum of biodiversity planned to open in Panama in 2006.

I also do consulting on ecotourism development in the tropics. Plus writing and editing.

Mechanical Engineer - I design the housings/internal metalwork for Indutrial-Strength Computers. (Hazardous Environments etc.)
