Grass. Then trees. Then a corn field.
At the moment? This:
If I look out the bedroom window on the side of my house, I see the National Cathedral all lit up in the distance. It sounds weird but this thread made me kind of remember that and take some time last night just to look out the window.
I see you!
Not really, but that would be creepy, huh?
The Caribbean Sea.
I wake early for work and frequently watch the sun rise over the water.
My bedroom doesn’t have any windows. I have a skylight and I leave it open most of the time.
So…the California sky.
The bedroom windows for other condos, the stairwells that serve those condos, and our parking lot.
I like Caribbean sunrises and sets. Can I ask what island you get to view from?
Downtown, then the Mississippi River, then Wisconsin.
My garden, the chicken house made out of antique doors, and beyond that, the forest.
Tidal Potomac river. Sometimes, watermen emptying their crab pots in the early am. Other boats now and then.
Thirty feet of grass, a row of trees, then a field with soybeans in it this year.
In summer, the Pride of Barbados shrubs reach from ground to eaves, and keep the afternoon western sun from cooking me. In the winter, the shrubs are gone (cut back) and I see the wooded settlement basin across the cup-de-sac. Currently there is a herd of javelin hanging out there, and I watch them come back in the morning to settle down and nap for the day. Late comers have to shoulder in and that elicits groans, grumbles and squeals from the ones already there. Entertaining.
A 12 foot papaya plant covered in papayas, a couple of banana plants, four plumerias, three or four different kinds of palms, three kinds of guava trees, a mango tree, some giant birds of paradise, a passion fruit vine, two pineapple plants, some bougainvillia, a few hibiscus bushes, a curry leaf bush, a lemon tree, 12 mandarin orange trees - and usually, our two dogs running around seeing how much damage they can do!
And depending on the time of day, flocks of green parrots flying by, screaming and screeching.
Grand Cayman. Not a bad way to wake up.
My bedroom is on the top floor of a 6 level house, in a wooded area, so I am right up in the trees. Out the east windows I see ash, maple, oak and Douglas fir; below are cherry trees. Out the west window is oak, Douglas fir, western red cedar, rhododendrons, and a couple of neighboring houses. As nice as it is, I envy those of you waking to tropical scenes.
A couple of big old oak trees, some crabapple trees, a few unidentified bushes, some grass, the street, and the apartment complex’s fitness center.
Window?
My Propane tank, my neighbor driveway, carport/house.
I keep the curtains drawn 99% time.
Back Door?
Deck, back yard with rabbits grazing, a few trees and some other neighbors houses in the background
The Santa Catalina mountains and a bunch of cacti.
