Inspired partially by the thread about whether or not women typically wear lingerie for everyday purposes, and partially by the fact that:
Recently my BF informed me that when he doesn’t (ahem) have any particular reason to disrobe before bed, he just sleeps in whatever he wore that day. First thought: I’m going to have to break him of that habit. Second thought: I wonder if this is a common habit…
I myself range from my birthday suit to shorts and a tank top/T-shirt. Usually just underwear. I can’t sleep in pajama/sweatpants because they get twisted around my legs and pushed up above my knees and generally make my night unpleasant.
I’ve got to have my underwear on. You see, I’m a very light sleeper and I toss and turn a lot. And when the tip o’ the tentacle touches cold bedspread, it instantly wakes me up. Same reason I can’t wear boxers – the fly never stays closed enough.
I wear a tank top and sweatpants. I can’t wear socks, I’ll get too warm and wake up in the middle of the night. Or I’ll take them off when I’m sleeping and I’ll find them across the room or up by my pillow when I wake up. Oh yeah, and my retainer. I got my braces off about two years ago but I’m not planning on having my teeth move back. That would require them to turn around again, and it was painful enough turning them the right way in the first place.
Pyjamas. At this time of the year I wear my light cotton summer ones and if it’s a warm night I’ll often wear only the shorts. In winter, I go for my flannelette pyjamas.
Nada. Neither hubby or I wear clothing to bed (unless we are sleeping at a relative’s house or something). Also don’t wear clothes around the apartment unless we’re expecting company.
Most of the time I don’t wear anything to bed, but that’s also because I prefer it to be cold in the room I’m sleeping in. Clothes just makes me warmer. But, sometimes I’ll fall asleep in a t-shirt and boxers, or if I’m very lazy/tired, yeah, wearing whatever I wore during the day.
