What do you sleep in?

ummm, now it’s boxers, flannel pants, and at least a t-shirt. put then again, it’s like 40 degrees in the house and i don’t like a lot of heavy blankets on me.

when it’s above 60 at night, it’s just boxers. can’t do the nude thing, it just bothers me for some reason.

Naked sleep I.

I will sleep in boxers and a tank top under three conditions:

  1. We have company over, and they’re spending the night.

  2. I’m sick. I guess I think it helps me keep the heat in.

  3. Mr. Snicks is out, for whatever reason, and I’m home alone. But this is variable: sometimes when he’s gone I’ll sleep in clothes, sometimes I won’t.

A garbage bag suspended 100 feet above the ground… Oh, you meant clothes. Just a pair of underwear then.

Nooooo! I didn’t mean it that way! Honestly, if he’s happier sleeping in his day’s clothes, he can go ahead. But before him I’d never met anyone who didn’t change/disrobe before bed, so it struck me as really odd. I dunno. I feel kind of icky when I end up sleeping in my clothes, and I associate that ickiness with doing so. But I could get over it.

I used to sleep nude, but after our daughter was born, I switched to pajamas. Flannel on cold winter nights, shorties in the summer. Always wear a top, too. No socks.

I’d also be interested in finding a really nice nightcap for winter nights.

If it’s cold, pajamas.
Less cold, a long nightgown.
Warm, a short night gown or t-shirt and panties.
Hot–t-shirt and panties, or just panties, or nothing.

Flannel boxers. Started to wear some socks lately because it’s been getting so cold.

Eww, like he sleeps in dirty jeans and t-shirts? I have this pretty strict rule about only sleeping in bed clothes. And I don’t lounge around in bed clothes either, they’re just for sleeping. I get home from work or working out and put on slippers and sweats to lounge around in. Then, right before bed, I change into a tank top and either crew butt shorts or skeleton pajama pants (I have six pairs). I don’t like sleeping nude because it’s cold in the winter and I sweat too much in the summer.

I sleep in the glory of God’s creation. Starkers. El-Buffo. Except when I am traveling. Then I generally wear boxers, just in case I have to decamp to a hallway for some reason.

Boxers. Almost 100% of the time (on the rare occaisions I have sex, I might go to bed nude, but usually I put my boxers back on.)

I also, if in my own bed, always have just my quilt. No other sheets or blankets allowed, except for the fitted sheet underneath me. If there is more than one layer on me, I feel trapped, and they always get bunched. It doesn’t matter if it’s -20 or 100 degrees out, I always sleep with that one quilt. Though if it is hot, I will only have it on my lower half. But no quilt at all? Nope.

Oh, and to those nude all the time people:

Cook naked? My God, the very thought of a stray globule of hot grease hitting my nether regions is too much to comtemplate! And lounging about naked? Don’t youi have, you know…windows? That other people can see through?

Then you, sir, have been abusing crack cocaine.

Yeah. It’s not that I want to change him, but I’ve always had this feeling that one should, at a minimum, change the shirt. Especially since he’s got a minor skin problem that this might help clear up. And why anyone would want to sleep in pants that aren’t soft and stretchy is beyond me–it takes two seconds to remove a pair of jeans.

But whatever. Totally up to him. I expect he’ll get into different habits when he and I are able to spend more time together, anyway.

A free motion waterbed. Oh, you mean clothing.

Like the other girls, nude unless the tide is in, then panties. I like to cuddle with The Elf and feel skin-to-skin. Happy sigh.

If there is company over, I will often sleep in some sort of night wear, but like many here, I cannot sleep in a long gown or something loose that will constrict around my neck. I toss a lot and even a spagetti strap gown will get all twisted and wake me up.

I also always have to have at least a sheet covering my mid-section when I sleep even when camping in the middle of summer. I undress and get under the covers even to nap.

Here is an interesting thing. Since I started sleeping in the heated waterbed, I always feel cold in regular beds, even when piled with blankets. It’s as if my body has forgotten how to keep me warm at night.

T-shirt and shorts. The shorts may or may not be just my usual underwear.

In very cold weather (up North, that is), sweats; and socks and even a knit cap if the heating does not crank enough.
