Good, but not good enough. You were supposed to be paid separately on this job (you had negotiated separately, even if the bill was paid in one lump sum), and she managed to give you a good screwing. I wouldn’t work with her in any capacity ever again. Joe Frickin Friday has it just right - she doesn’t listen, she doesn’t learn, and she doesn’t take responsibility for her own mistakes.
Yeah, it was too bad you had to find out what your friend was really like, by her behaving so inappropriately towards you.
Just a belated thanks to everyone for their great advice. I’ve been out of town for a couple of weeks and just got the chance to log on here.
I’ve definitely decided to go with the wise advice to not ever work with this lady again. It’s a sad thing when you learn the hard way not to trust someone that you valued as a friend.
You know, I wouldn’t build this into a huge trust issue.
Sometimes people just don’t get it. Everyone has at least one instance in their life where they’ve acted unfairly and didn’t see why their actions are unfair. I don’t think she went into this scheming. She just got a little selfish and didn’t have the grace to control that. Yes, she was wrong. But I don’t think she was a scheming bitch- just really self-centered and inconsiderate.
Anyway, if you have to keep working with her, I would write this one incident off. Its just going to keep bugging you if you continually think bad of someone you have to be around, and it won’t really help anything. Of course, don’t go into business with her again. But don’t let this poison her to you. She might be a decent person all around except in this one respect. Everyone has their bad moments.
