Well, I don’t really want a tombstone, as I want my ashes scattered, but if there was a memorial bench somewhere, I’d like it to say:

Considering how much of a fan I am of the X-Files, a quote (though not dialogue) from the show might be appropriate.

we joked (yes, we’re a sick family) that my Dad’s should say, “I’m just resting my eyes”

I also thought of just a large “X” in conjunction with a beyond-the-grave geocaching medalion that says:
“Wealth is measured in time,
It can only be spent with friends
Is beyond the reach of thieves
Survives in memory past death’s grip”.
Meh.
The advertisement is about meeting other goths near me. Heh.
While I honestly don’t see myself bedding down eternally in a cemetery, I like to think my tombstone would read:
"The Greatest Man That Ever Lived*
*According to Himself"

Mine would simply display the following:
Penn and Teller actually have a magic trickon theirs. (They’re both still alive of course, but it already works as part of their act and they’ve announced their intention to make it more elaborate “when the time comes”.) I’ve always thought that was cool.
I also think that a Mobius strip headstone would be neat.
