pig guard
First name–warrior woman, strong, brave (very funny)
Middle name–beloved or lovable (OK, I guess so)
Last name–a skilled worker who makes, finishes, and repairs wooden objects and structures (I am what is referred to as “mechanically declined”)
One out of three isn’t bad.
First name “Gaurdian”
Middle Name “Manly”
Kind of fits together.
My first name is my dad’s name (and also an apostle’s name.) My last is the clan name from when we left Scotland centuries ago.
First name: Resurrection
Middle name: Dawn (name is same as meaning).
First name: “Bright Fame”
Middle name: “of Laurentum” (an Italian city whose name refers to the laurel)
Last name: “Goatherd” (well, my sweetie did have goats at her old house, and I fed the caprines on several occasions)
First name - soft haired, youthful
Middle name - Most commonly given as “pure”, but according to Behind the Name, this is wrong. They give four possiblities: 1) “each of the two”, 2) derived from the goddess Hecate, 3) related to the Greek word for “torture” or 4) “my consecration of your name”
Last name - pledge
First name: Depending on which language origin you choose, it’s either “beautiful” or “soft, tender.”
Middle name: Spelling variant of the name that means “God is my oath.”
Last name: A little obscure since there are a number of spelling possibilties, but the two frontrunners are “sun” and “swampy lowland.” Guess which one I’d prefer.
First name means “Greatest”.
Last name means “Strange”. Yes, literally.
So I come out being called something that approximates to “The greatest strange person”. Oh, joy.
A worthy death  for the SDMB obits I’m sure!
First name: “God is Gracious.”
Middle name: “Who is like God?”
Last name: A word in English, for an ethnicity I do not possess. And no, I’m not telling.
“Strong” " Superior" “Merchant”
“Crowned with Laurel”
“Consecrated to God”
“From the dark water”
Hmm. Not sure if that’s good or bad. Starts off well, but that last one… makes me sound a little ‘from-the-other-side’ ish.
I quite like mine:
First name:
Middle Name:
Surname:
Well…supposedly I have quite a religious background…news to me.
Heh. I have an Archbishop of Canturbury in my background. Of course, the direct line leads to his cousin who shared his name. That one, who immigrated to America in the late-1600s, was admonished for chaining his wife to the bedpost. But after him there were a lot of preachers.
James: He Who Supplants
Vaughn: Small
King: Er…King
So…I’m the Little Usurper.
My first name means “precious”
My middle name means “protector”
The meanings might not go well together, but they sound good.
Don’t you love the Teutonic and Norse names? They usually involve spears or shields or battles. My first name is actually a combination of two names. Part of it would be brave or hard spear. Hard spear would be a great line if I were a guy. Hey baby, my name means “hard spear”. waggles eyebrows … I guess it’s a good thing I’m not a guy, I’d never get any.
Chaim = Life
Mattisyahu = Gift from G-d
Chaim Mattisyahu Keller
“Handsome by birth”
Coincidentally, a good friend of mine in college and University came from an islamic background, and his name, though completely different, meant the same thing.
