I always thought the perfect ending to that exchange would have been Latka saying “So am I.”

I don’t know you personally, but I would bet money your mind is better than mine. He probably did say that. Or perhaps I saw the episode in syndication, and that line got truncated to make room for a commercial.
Sorry, Sauron, no bet. I’ve mentally re-written too many lines in my time only to be disappointed by hearing the original that it missed whatever punching-up I had done to it. 
Jim: I was in a courtroom once.
Tony: Oh, they get you on drugs?
Jim: Noooo…I was ALREADY on drugs. Sheeesh.
