What does it means when a woman asks a stranger to dance?

Ah, I’m going by what I used to do.
Now I’m all loved up, the only reason I’ll dance with someone other than irishfella is reason 2-Gay guy, great dancer.

Irishfella, like most Irishmen will only dance under extreme duress and after much alcohol…usually resulting in him asking me to dance for reason 6- He’s too drunk and needs some propping up on the dance floor!

It usually means you got SERVED!!

…maybe she’s just looking for someone to dance with…?

<am I the only one that still remembers this song?>

In my experience she is usually a beautiful French spy and she has to hide from members of the Russian Mafia that just entered the club.
Yeah, that’s what it usually is.

I misunderstood the question. (Hey, what can you expect from a muffin?) I was referring to being asked out for an evening of dancing, as oppposed to be asked to dance a set when already at a dance.

If you are a fellow who can hoof it, word gets out, and you get asked out. My WAG is that there are more women who enjoy ballroom dancing then men.

When I ask a man to dance, and the operative word is “when” it can mean one of several things. [ul]
[li]I’d like to dance with someone and he looks willing.[/li][li]I know he’s a good dancer and I’m in a mood for a good partner.[/li][li]He looks like he could be an interesting person to get to know and this is one way to do it.[/li][li]He looks like he’d like to dance but is too shy to try. I’d like to show him a good time.[/ul] [/li]I think you get the general idea. Now, most of the dancing I’ve done over the past few years has been at Mensa RGs, which does present certain advantages. First, since everyone is, by definition, “dancing like a geek”, you don’t have to worry about being conspicuous because you’re doing so. Second, if you’d like to do more than dance with someone, since these are held at hotels, there are places you can go for quiet conversation or other things. Third, if the dance is a bust, chances are there’s a hot Double-Deck Hearts game starting up. I like to dance and I’m good at it. I like dancing with a partner or with a group even more. I’m too conservative when it comes to my sex life to take a person home with me after one night on the dance floor, but it is one way to enjoy a man’s company and find out a little about what he’s like. I also like to see people having fun and, if a fellow can have fun by dancing with me, that’s wonderful. I’m no longer available, but even so, I may ask a fellow to dance at the next RG simply for the pleasure of dancing with him.

The bottom line is when I ask a man to dance it’s because I’m having fun and I think it might be fun to dance with him. It’s intended as a compliment and I hope the gentleman will take it as one and say “Yes!”
