When I hear a phrase like “knows how to treat a lady”, I cringe.
Ah, but the question isn’t “what does it mean to treat someone like a lady?”, it’s “what does someone who says they want to be ‘treated like a lady’ mean?” The former means “treat her respectfully - be chivalrous but not condescending.” I’m not sure about the latter, but when I’ve seen seen it in personal ads I’ve interpreted the answer to be “she expects you to do whatever she wants at all times.”
