I’m probably an idiot for not knowing this. When I was younger some guys would shake my hand and while they were doing it they would wiggle their middle finger in my palm. I never knew what it meant, so I just ignored it.
The other day my hubby and I were goofing around and he gave me the same handshake, I asked him what it means and he said he wasn’t sure either, but it was something sexual.
I’ve heard the same thing Ringo did from ladies. It must be something that started in the mid 90s because I never heard of it when I was in school which ended in 1992.
This junior high school urban legend, widespread at the age when young fellers are desperately trying to figure out how to communicate their pubescent desires to females, has been around for many, many years. I heard it in the 60s and it was old hat then. Fourteen-year old boys teach each other this secret handshake that means “I want to screw you”, assuring the newbie being let in on the great secret that women will get the message if they do this. Unfortunately, as with any weird handshake, the receipient of this palm tickle is much more likely to jerk their hand away than to smile secretly and signal consent to sexual congress. Any young lad who tries to communicate his sexual desires by means of this handshake very quickly learns that there’s a little more to getting laid than that.
Gee, I thought it was a lesbian signal. I attended a party where many lesbians were present and during an introduction received this handshake from a woman. My lack of response indicated my cluelessness.
