What Does This PostSecret Submission Say?

I’ve spent hours trying to decipher this post card using letter substitution without any luck. I must be overlooking something very obvious. Can anyone tell me what it says?

It’s not simple letter substitution, I can tell you that much. (Did the cryptograms in GAMES magazine for years. I can spot substitution cyphers fairly easily.) This is a 20x10 field of characters that pretty much seems random, so I’m guessing it’s more deeply encrypted than that.

I just read the Wikipedia page on “Postsecret” and they’re pretty weird. I know this doesn’t help you solve your puzzle.

A lot of blocks of letters in that block of text are close to each other on a standard QWERTY keyboard. I’m guessing that it’s just garbage text produced by someone randomly banging on the keys.

I saw that posting today, too, King Might. I took it to mean garble, or useless words. It kind of said to me that the sender felt communication was nonsensical.

Just my guess. Only the sender really knows.

I saw this after staring at it for a few seconds.

It says “I LOVE YOU”, in wordsearch style.

StarsApart, they agree with you on the PostSecret boards.

Yeah, on a second look, the letters in “I love you” don’t seem to fit the keyboard pattern. So I’m going to amend my guess to say that it’s mostly random typing, but with that short message wordsearched in.

Agreed - notice the lack of vowels elsewhere.

That would explain the appearance of “BRIAN” just under and to the left of the “you” (although it’s actually ‘BRIATN’).
