In Jewel’s song Barcelona, there’s a line that says “Barcelona, where the winds all blew; the churches don’t have windows, but the graveyards do”.
I understand about blowing winds, but what’s this about churches and graveyards and windows? I figure it’s one of two things. One: it’s deep and meaningful, and I’m just too dense to get it. Two: it’s obscurity masquerading as depth (for more examples, please see Paul Simon). So, which is it? If it’s deep and meaningful, what is the meaning?
